The Space:
Oldcorn Cottage is a stylish and quirky maisonette apartment that is full to the brim with style and plenty of character. Located on Spring Hill, this charming holiday home is set across two floors with plenty of space on each of them.
Upon entering on the lower floor, you’ll be welcomed into a bright and clean space. You’ll find the living room, as well as the kitchen and dining area on this floor, along with the family bathroom. The living space is a cosy room, the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring all that Whitby has to offer. With a spacious sofa, as well as an armchair, there is ample room to settle down in front of the TV with your friends or family for a cosy night-in after your action-packed days out.
The kitchen maintains charm, yet has a modern edge to it. Fully equipped with all the modern appliances you could need, you’ll be able to make the most of your self-catering stay in an environment that balances an old, rustic cottage feel with a sleek and modernised set of equipment. You’ll also find a corner dining table in this area with seating for all guests staying at Oldcorn Cottage, and space to sit everyone down and enjoy a comforting meal together.
In the family bathroom we find buckets of wow factor! A shower with yards of space to stretch and wash in; and stylish wash basin and WC, it is a fresh and crisp space within this charming property.

The Neighborhood:
Set on the West side of Whitby, Oldcorn Cottage is just a short 5-minute walk into the centre of town. Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.
Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and even more fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
Whitby train station is just a short 5-minute walk away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
