About the property
Rose Cottage is a beautifully restored period cottage, set in a quiet spot with pretty views and the backdrop of St Boniface Down. Original features include period fireplaces, while every modern home comfort has been thought of including underfloor heating throughout the downstairs. With a secluded garden where you can relax in the hot tub or enjoy a BBQ meal, it is a superb place for a holiday with family and friends. Meanwhile, walks in the countryside and to beautiful sandy beaches, including the pretty seaside resort of Ventnor, begin right from the front door.
The space
Sensitively and luxuriously renovated, the cottage's attention to detail is superb, from the Italian limestone flooring (with underfloor heating) to the Art Deco radiators.
The heart of the home is the open-plan kitchen/dining room which is perfect for socialising. There is everything you could need to self-cater with ease including an American style fridge/freezer, a Rangemaster gas oven and hob, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher.
Meanwhile, the dining room is set in the light and airy conservatory. It features a marble-topped dining table, plenty of seating and stylish plantation shutter-style blinds. The French doors can be opened up to the terrace to bring the outdoors in.
When it's time to wind down, get cosy in the lounge which features an electric wood burner-effect stove, sofas, armchairs and a chaise longue, plus a Smart TV with Sky channels and a DVD/Blu Ray player. There is a selection of children's books, DVDs and family games. In addition, there is a separate snug with a Smart TV.
There are four bedrooms in total, including a single bedroom on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, one king-size bedroom and a bedroom suite with a four-poster, king-size bed. There is also a family bathroom with a bath.
If you are travelling with your dog, you will even find a dog snug, complete with day bed and an en-suite shower room, to make your pampered pooch feel at home.
Outside, there is a private terrace at the front of the cottage and a stone wall beyond which is a private area with a hot tub, complete with Bluetooth speakers, lighting and massage function. There is also an enchanting, secluded rear enclosed garden where children can play, dogs can stretch their legs and grown-ups can cook on the BBQ and sip evenings drinks.
