Great hotel. Last min night away booked to celebrate our engagement. Im tall (6'3") yet i was put in a room with a well signed low beam across the middle. Hotel wasnt full though. I also alerted the hotel to the reason for the yet nothing was said at all?? Attention to detail is important

Lift was broken unfortunately. And has we had a 85 yr old with us with health issues the stairs to second floor were a problem for her The breakfast was nice however the plate warmers and food didn’t seem to keep the scrambled eggs and hash browns etc were mildly warm instead of Hot.the staff were friendly though. Overall it was pleasant the beds comfortable..

Business trip away for a couple of nights. I had to wait a little while to check-in but when I did it was fine. I asked for a room with a fridge and this was right which I really appreciated. The room its self was really spacious and clean, but very tired. It was also SO hot I had to have the fan on ALL the time, which wasn’t ideal. And the window to the room wouldn’t open which wasn’t ideal. The spa area was nice but really busy. Gym was good too! On check out - I handed my key in & that was it - no how was your stay or anything from the staff which was disappointing

Great size room with AC. Quiet location, good breakfast and happy to make me an omelette. Mattress felt old and could be more plush, though bedsheets were fine.

Stayed for 2 nights with friends. Room was large with a comfortable bed, a coffee table and 2 chairs, a dressing table and bath with shower overhead. All very clean. Housekeeping replaced towels & made the bed. Room had a safe but this appeared not to work. An iron & ironing board in the wardrobe. We were on the 3rd floor so room was warm but a fan was provided in the room. The lift was out of action. We used the swimming pool and towels were provided. You do need a £1 coin for the lockers. Breakfast was very fresh, hot and lots of choice. We ate dinner the 1st night which was nice. We would recommend this hotel.

Couldn't see where the refit money had been spent, apart from the new floor in the bar. Someone pocketed a lot of money. Lifts not working. 2020/21 this was one our favourite hotels, but looks like the Newbury Hilton from now on August, England, 2024 and you could only get wifi in the reception/bar area. If you need wifi for work, conference calls etc, then forget it. On the plus side, the staff were lovely.
