No coffee at breakfast

I like the hotel and try and stop here whenever Im working down here. The issue im having is that the Coffee machines are not fully up and running for the 6:30 breakfast time.. They know that breakfast is served at 6:30, so why isnt the coffee machines ready?? Nothing worse than heading off for a 12hr workday without any coffee inside you :(

Had a very enjoyable stay. Staff were absolutely fantastic - welcome cookies was a nice touch. Breakfast and dinner in the Marco Pierre restaurant was very good. Free parking and location worked well for us. Place just a little bit tired - could do with some TLC to decor throughout corridors and rooms, and spar had a few things not working. Just felt well used, but did not detract from an excellent stay. Would recommend and stay again.

Very comfortable and convenient for our visit. Hotel was a little tired looking and Spa needs upgrading with the swimming pool freezing and jacuzzi not working. But bedroom was very comfortable and staff were very helpful.

Bar staff increasse during function

The room and bed were very comfortable. To be asked to pay £ 5 per person to use the pool was very annoying, as was the number of people allowed to be in the pool. Furthermore, the number of staff behind the bar during the function we were attending was not sufficient. Very annoying also was the quality of the wine that we had ordered and the fact that no replacement bottle was available.

Lovely room with a lush shower

Stayed for one night mid-week. We paid extra for an executive room. The first room had a musty smell in the bathroom, and we were given a different room immediately with a voucher for complimentary drinks as a good will gesture. The second room was spotless and very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower which was lush. The staff were very friendly and accompanied and I would definitely stay there again.

I recently stayed three nights with my family of four at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Sheffield. We were warmly welcomed by Ali at reception, who greeted us with the signature warm cookies and provided helpful information about the hotel and nearby attractions. During breakfast, Sue stood out for her welcoming demeanor. On our first day, she kindly offered to bring us orange juice to our table, which made our morning feel special on the first day. However, I noticed a significant difference compared to other Hilton properties. While the staff were friendly, they often appeared overworked, affecting service quality. Breakfast itself was disappointing, with several items frequently running out and not enough prepared for the number of guests. The pool was nice and warm, which the kids enjoyed, but unfortunately, the jacuzzi was not working during our entire stay. The fitness center was particularly disappointing; many machines were rusty, some were not working, and there was only one treadmill available. The center's limited hours from 7 AM to 8 PM also made it difficult to use before breakfast, which is served only until 9:30 AM on weekdays. Although the location was quiet and allowed for restful nights, improved operations management, better food supplies, and additional support for staff would enhance the experience. With these changes, this hotel could become a great family option.
