The view from this hotel is amazing, if you pay extra for a sea view! The 2 staff members were pleasant enough and when you arrive go to reception and pay the £2.50 for a 2 day parking permit-Bargain! However they are the only positives. The hotel smelt like boiled cabbage in the lobby and old wood chip wall paper in the room. I regret paying extra for the sea view as the room (14) was so tiny it was only ever meant to be a single Approx 3 metre squared at a maximum, the bathroom was approx 2 metres by 75cm....even at my 4ft 11 stature it was beyond tiny! The whole room was 1970 wood chip, that was very very tired. The bedding sheets were really clean, but i made the mistake of looking under the sheets to see a very dirty divan and pillows. The bin still had rubbish from the previous occupants, plus a cup had been used and they forgot to put in a kettle which i had to go source from reception. This hotel doesnt do food either and a good walk to the local amenities, but remote is what i wanted. Fortunatly due to a family emergency we had to leave after only being in the room a total of 1 hour. The staff member suggested he would speak to his manager to let them know the amount of time we were there to see if a partial refund could happen...Im guessing not as not heard a thing from them. Needs a good strip down and redecorating job.

Up he hill

Pros: Good position
Cons: Being able to open window and a larger shower/WC room (wash basin in room)
Location: Do not go to Bridlington
This hotel is just what we expected ,clean, free parking, the only down side to our sea view room was that we could not open the window, which you would need to do in hot weather.

Good views

Cons: The shower was very small in our room but it did its job so can't complain too much!
We had a family room which was massive, with two sets of bunk beds and a double bed. Clean space. Airy room, comfy beds. Staff v helpful.

North Shore, well positioned

Arrived early and a lovely lady took our case and explained where to park. We returned a few hours later and had been upgraded to a sea view room. Whilst the hotel is old we were very happy with our room and it was clean and updated. Very handy for town. Would definitely return. All staff were lovely

Excellent sea views

Pros: The staff. The bar area was modern and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was cereals, fruit juices, a cooked breakfast including blabk pudding & toast
Cons: The shower cubicle and shower
Location: Excellent views of the North Bay and castle. Peasholm Park. Sea life centre.
This hotel has an excellent view of the North Bay, castle amd surrounding area of Scalby. We received a very warm welcome on check-in and also were advised that a large party were staying in the hotel but if we were disturbed in any way to ket the manager know. Our room contained a double bed and also bunk beds which limited the floor space for the two of is but as this room was the only room left on booking we accepted we had more beds than what was needed. The room was modern although slightly shabby in areas but clean. The ensuite was adeqaute although the shower was tempermental running too hot and cold whilst in use. Towels were good quality although no where was suitable for them to dry. Tea & coffee facilities were available and large mugs provided. Would have enjoyed the option of hot chocolate. Due to the large party who breakfasted first the first morning of our stay no cereals were available, the dining room was untidy HOWEVER the manager and staff asked what we would like and provided our cereal, breakfast and coffee personally. The second morning breakfast was a much better experience with plenty of choice. We appreciated the hotel having its own car parking space as it can be difficult to park. We would pay a return visit especially as the staff tried so very hard to be obliging and were really friendly.

Lovely hotel with wonderful sea views

Pros: The view from our window and the location
Cons: Toilet and shower could do with updating but were perfectly adequate.
Location: Scarborough - what more do you want?
What more could you want? Our bay windowed second floor room had great views of the whole of the North Bay overlooking North Marine Road. The room was very clean, bed was very large & comfortable and the other facilities were OK. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and breakfast was of excellent quality. It's also ideally located only 10 minutes walk from the town or beach

NICE HOTEL

Nice hotel located mid way between North and South Shores. We were in a family room number one, which for us was OK for a short stay, having bunk beds for the kids ando a double bed for us. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room, with a new clean kettle. Hotel was nice and clean but a little tired but this is reflected in the price when compared to other hotels in the town. All in all a very nice stay.
