Excellent family hotel

We thought the country club was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed and more. The facilities at the club are great - we loved the pool and slide, the crazy golf course was immaculate and lots of fun, we also played squash and used the spa. We were able to leave our kids (11& 13) on the waterslide and pop in there for a sauna, steam and jacuzzi- we thought it was excellent. The breakfast buffet was particularly loved by our 2 boys and we had a nice evening meal in The Brasserie. Overall we had an excellent stay and we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We will be back! Thank you

Best kept secret

This was our first visit. What a surprize! Rooms are large in the apartment, well kitted out from Cornish Tea and Coffee with fresh milk in the fridge to a ironing board! Everything spotlessly clean. The reception staff were well above average, nothing was an issue. In fact they couldn't have been more friendly. Huge pool, excellent for exercise. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use it much, likewise for the Spar. Food looked good and the bar well stocked, again friendly staff. This is the best UK hotel we have stayed in in a long time. Well done!

The apartment was nice, but the facilities were not so good. Especially the sauna. It was small, so it was quickly filled with people. The aromatic showers were broken.

Apart from our daughters bed not being made, no duvet covers for the sofa bed duvet the stay was great, room was clean and spacious! I would stay here again!

Great for kids and a good base for exploring

The hotel is just over the Tamar Bridge, one side of the bridge is Devon and the other Cornwall. The hotel is in a good location to explore to South West. We went to Plymouth, Padstow, Looe, Polperro and Liskeard. The hotel is great for children. There’s a play area, a great pool with a slide and adventure golf. We didn’t do the adventure golf as it would have been £24 for a family of two adults and one child and we felt that was too much. My daughter really enjoyed the pool and slide. There’s a little soft play too, that closed at 8 and a lot of families were disappointed it was closed so early. We had a self catering apartment. It had everything you wanted but the oven is really old and all the signs on it had rubbed off so we had to spend ages working out how to use it properly. The beds were comfortable, my only grumble was that I could hear the people above us and the ground maintenance crew start early. So one lazy morning we got awoken at 7.30 by what sounded like a grass cutter is something going behind the building. Overall the stay was really good and the positives outweighed the negative. I’m sure we’ll be back at some point in the future.
