Damp smell in room

A real shame our room smelt of and had evidence damp. Either of rising or from long term leaks withing bathroom Otherwise the service was good, bed comfortable and breakfast great.

Check reviews before booking!

Firstly, i'm pretty low maintenance, as long as I have a bed, food & TV I'm happy. However, i was really dissapointed that the TV was very old and not a smart TV. Not many hotels have the basic tv in this day and age, especially a 4* hotel. Oh well! Could always watch my.smart phone. Moving on to food! I have never ate a Lasagne with no cheese. The meal cost more than the room! I have ate better from Wetherspoons. You should get what you pay for. Very dissatisfied. Staff were attentive and lovely in the restaurant, however every table has water and wine glasses that dont get removed and cleansed for the next customer if not used. As a nurse I am very aware of infection prevention. I think the management need Gordan Ramsey in! Sorry I will not be returning.

Not the warmest reception experience I’ve had…a bit efficacious. The room needed a clean by me, but I am quite fussy. A nice facility very near the motorway which could be great with a little more attention to detail

Great food !

It's several years since I stayed here and it looks like in that time it hasn't had a refresh which it now needs. Little things can make all the difference but my biggest complaint was the radiator in my room it was too hot to touch and the room was very warm. There was however a fan provided and it was on all night! Why not fix the radiator problem and the fan wouldn't be required? However the food did not disappoint portions were huge and very tasty staff were lovely and very attentive :-)

Very nice hotel, room was nice and I had a nice view in the morning. Not far down the road to a good range of takeaway options and breakfast was good.

I felt that there were a few things that could improved, the breakfast was lovely, but I felt that there weren't enough staff, there was no milk, tables weren't set up, no butter on tables, I literally had to ask for more milk to put on my cereal, buttter to put on my toast, cutlery to eat it with, a glass for my juice, juice to put in my glass. Also the shower in room 340 on had one temperature and that was boiling! It would not cool down, so much so that we couldn't have a shower. The staff were lovely and helpful when asked for things, I just felt little things could improve the overall feel for customers

The breakfast took ages, the staff couldnt accommodate the amount of guests. Cooked breakfast came and slow and was plated on cold plates. Breakfast was really poor. The rooms decor was very dated, we had a double deluxe. There was only one towel for a room with two guests. The show screen didnt protect the water from running onto the bathroom floor, the bathroom floor was covered in water. The shower screen was placed on the wrong side of the bath handle.

The property location was fine for my needs. The restaurant and bar area was very nice, but the hotel in certain areas is a bit tired and worn. Overall it was a decent enough hotel for the price that I paid. Excellent staff that were very helpful particularly in the restaurant/bar.

great stay

not the first time we have stayed there. Big section of the staff are very friendly and helpful. We always get greeted by reception staff with a smile and laugh. Breakfast staff are great too. All in all we always have a great stay.

Great staff Tired hotel

Rooms tired and needing updating. Bathroom in room dirty. Staff amazing, food average and probably slightly overpriced for what you get. Take the standard of the hotel to the quality of the staff and you’re on to a winner but definitely work to be done

Good deal for the money but not at full price

The hotel was good value for the price I paid if I had paid the full price I would have been very disappointed the breakfast was okay buffet but the food wasn’t kept very warm over all it was okay for the price I paid but not worth the full price
