4 day visit for relatives
Had a great stay. Breakfast was great and the one meal we had was delicious. I'm a coeliac and they were very helpful. Had a delicious icecream sundae for pudding. The staff were amazing .Kieran and all the girls were lovely. We've stayed a few years and have noticed room's have gone a bit tired and bathroom needs regrouting . But a lovely stay as always. Can't say enough how great the staff are.
The room/bathroom was very clean & comfortable as it looked newly refurbished. One small point, on our first morning maintenance men turned up at 8.30 am working on the flat roof outside our room. As breakfast was served from 9 am, I would have thought it would have been appropriate to arrange for this work to at least start from 9am when guests are more likely to be at breakfast.
I would like to add that all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.
Handy for south Norwich area.
Very comfortable and large 6’ bed. Excellent pillows. Massive bathroom but small shower with terrible water pressure. Anyone with long hair will struggle to rinse out the shampoo. Small sink with awkwardly fitted shelf, very difficult to rinse you face especially after shaving.
Carpet and bathroom floor had shattered white bits, not sure what they were but the vacuuming hadn’t been done very well or the vacuum just wasn’t very good.
Excellent food and service, friendly welcoming staff and nice atmosphere in pub. Good sized car park for easy parking. Noisy extractor fan from kitchen (which we had been warned about and it didn’t disturb sleep as it went off around 9pm). But it was very loud early evening when we were relaxing in the room.
Lovely B&B and restaurant, bar just 4 miles south of Norwich. Ideal for visiting surrounding areas and the city. Great breakfast, huge choices, juice and coffee.
Very pleasant, well presented property. Rooms were spotless, staff friendly and breakfast excellent. The only downside was the hotel’s proximity to the very busy main road however the double glazing and air conditioning goes some way to dampen down the noise together with the very reasonable room rate. Booked the day before arrival and very pleasantly surprised. Thanks for a great stay
Lovely accommodation. Our twin room "Jackson" was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. Lovely en suite with fluffy white towels. Well stocked tea tray with fresh milk and chilled water in the fridge. The food was amazing. Had a main meal on first night and breakfasts throughout our stay, all were very good. Lastly, but just as importantly was the staff. They were all so polite, welcoming, and friendly.
Just a note that the four rooms are upstairs. About 12 stairs, so if you have mobility issues you need to bare this in mind.
Very tasty breakfast and evening meal. Our room was at the front, it was noisy from the cars, as not used to the noise but got quiet during the night.
It was lovely they gave us some more water & left it in the fridge.
Staff very friendly
Very comfortable room and bed over a restaurant about 7 miles outside Norwich. Great hot breakfast and the dinner we had (not included in the room rate) was very satiffactory. Very friendly staff.
Had a lovely comfortable night. Bed super comfy and nice king size . Also nice to have fridge in the room as not a lot of hotel's do. Shower good. Breakfast fantastic.

Amazing food
The food was some of the best we have ever eaten - delicious and freshly made.
The room however was disappointing- clearly see some improvements but masking tape around the towel rail - holes in the wall in bathroom and bathroom door handle broken - cleanliness could have been better - toilet lid and seat had dirt in it and the ledge under the towel rail was full of dust and hairs - towels provided had stains on and holes in them - can’t complain regards to staff and service and the food all brilliant just the room let us down at £185 for 2 nights
Having previously stayed at the Sugar Beat a few times before, we were looking forward to returning and experiencing the great hospitality and superb food. Thank you to all the staff, special mention for Kieran, Chloe, Dawn and Matthew.
The stay was a base to meet up with friends living and visiting in the area. We are looking forward to our next visits.
