Friendly atmosphere, newly decorated clean fresh room and although the Talbot is an old 15th century coaching inn they have updated most of the accommodation around a quiet courtyard very well. Food menu is typical pub grub and popular with locals and visitors alike. The Talbot was full on a May Wednesday evening when we stayed and everything was very satisfactory to good.

Lovely Stay

Checked in with no problems. Room was lovely, clean and everything was perfect.

Very average

Room comfort was awful. Was far too hot even thpugh there was a fan. It was very uncomfortable and didnt sleep at all. Breakfast very poor. Sausage was terrible - would debate it was off. I dont like cold toast. Extremeley average. Wouldnt stay again.

Characterful Hotel

Pros: Proximity to the Town Centre and Locality without the hassle that goes along with a large town or city hotel
Cons: The cooked breakfast left a lot to be desired as it had been over cooked
Location: Plenty to do in the area which will warrant another visit.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating; knowledgeable of the area; the food was good quality pub grub and reasonably priced with a good selection on the special board

Classic coaching inn

Lovely cosy rooms, warm, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff very obliging. I would not hesitate to stay again, It's a homely, comfortable inn, perfect for a few days away.
