The staff were very friendly and the room was a decent size with a nice bathroom. Breakfast was alright, although I think the breakfast should be free for all guests as its a small buffet with a very limited variety and it's the same breakfast each morning. The big issue is that the hotel is not very accommodating. A washer & drier is advertised but you are not told until you are there that you have to pay for a separate cleaning service that takes a day or two to clean your clothes at an extra up charge. The car park was extremely small and again you shouldnt have to pay to park your car at a hotel you are paying for.. we could not get parked throughout our stay and spent far more than intended on parking expenses due to this, its hugely inconvenient. Another issue we faced was the lack of cleanliness. We stayed here for a week and during that time housekeeping did not vacuum, change our bin, put new bed sheets or pillowcases on, put out new cups and the surfaces were dusty. They would only bleach the bathroom and make the bed. On the brightside, the location of the hotel is great, right in the town centre and very safe with restaurants and supermarkets close by.

Disappointing

Night manager gave me the furthest possible room. Smaller room than booked. Was filthy and room phone didn't work so couldn't ring downstairs. Had to take luggage back down across hotel and two seperate lifts and arrange another room. If it wasn't so late (after a long working day) I'd have walked out to another hotel). Will not be booking here again considering it cost over £100. I didn't bother having breakfast which was paid as i was running late as my room was outside the pub where there was lots of noise till late. Even though i requested a quite area.

Best located hotel in Darlington- in town centre. Friendly staff. Well kept hotel but needs an update, but great value for money as is. Has food and bar options. Parking limited on 1st come 1st served basis, so only got parking 1 of my 2 nights. No free parking in Darlington centre on any day. Still best place to stay in town.

Seemingly very short staffed, with one member of staff trying to cook, serve and clear through breakfast on the Saturday morning, meaning many items on the buffet not available. The first room we were allocated overlooks a karaoke bar which was very noisy. They were able to move us to another quieter room which was great, but the room was tiny and very outdated, and down 10 miles of corridor and up and down two lifts, making it quite difficult to remember the route! As hotels go its fine, but pretty tired and run down on the whole.
