Lovely character hotel, nice and warm and comfortable. Nice food, although we did have an issue with slow service of the pre-theatre meal, apparently due to staffing issues, but the assistant manager did apologise on our check out and said he would look into and address the issues. However breakfast was good, well cooked and plenty of choice.

Perfect Location!
We love this hotel, the location is perfect, and surprisingly not noisy. The breakfast was perfect with excellent food and service in the very nice dining room. We did book an evening meal and had a few problems, we discussed this with senior staff and the bill was adjusted accordingly so we are happy. I believe Ensana who also own the Buxton Crescent Hotel look like they have severely restricted the budget for the Old Hall, some areas have been decorated/maintained but first impressions for someone first visiting are awful, I don’t know why they fitted the new doors by the entrance I can only think they are temporary, due to financial problems both are now up for sale, hopefully old hall hotel will then get attention it deserves with new owners. There seems to be quite a few issues with staff reliability, again maybe budget (and job security) you can still have a lovely time here, we did, just hope whoever buys it don’t price us out.

A beautiful historical building with original features. Efficient and pleasant staff. Crisp white linen on tables in the restaurant and bedding was also immaculate. Good choice of tea coffee and drinking chocolate in the rooms plus complimentary biscuits and house water. I would definitely stay again.

Fabulous
Fabulous stay prior to a show. The hotel was amazing. From check in (with complimentary glass of champagne) and throughout our stay the staff were professional, attentive and welcoming. Everything about this place was just perfect. Centrally located, stylish decor and classy without being pretentious. Would definitely recommend.

Very quaint hotel - a bit worn - but clean. Our only quibble is that we cannot understand why they don’t level up the beds . It’s a bit uncomfortable sleeping in a slope.

When we checked in the reception staff were helpful and knowledgeable. We had a twin room on the first floor, which was spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and there were plenty of options. We will definitely choose to stay here again.
