Spa Day Birthday

Lovely Boutique style hotel and nice spa facilities. Stayed on for spa day with friends for birthday celebration. Lunch included in package was great value but served luke warm. Only real negative point is being able to contact the hotel prior to the stay - no one to answer phone in reception or spa area.

Uncomfortable hotel

Unfortunately the two night stay was disappointing. We arrived late, the parking is terrible...difficult to get in and out and very small spaces. We could not park the car at the front of the property to unload as there were cars all over the place, so we had to do several trips as we had a lot of luggage. There is no cart or porter to help with luggage. We were hungry when we arrived but they stopped all food service at 9.30pm. The room was cold, very dated and worn. The bed was uncomfortable, and really hard. There are two ugly old chairs by a small table with stains and no cushions for comfort. To top of the terrible standard of the room, the noise was ridiculous. People walking past our door after 11pm talking and laughing really loud, and the noise from the the room upstairs kept us from sleeping. They were not being noisy but we could hear them walking around the room as the walls are so thin. It was as if they were going to fall through the ceiling. Our room was 107, terrible noise, terrible room. We are having to stay in hotels for the next few months due to moving homes, we will not be staying here again. On a positive note, the restaurant was nice and the staff were lovely. The gentleman at check out this morning was rude. The entire hotel needs renovating and updating.

Lovely hotel lovely attentive staff. We enjoyed our stay breakfast was nice comfy beds. Lovely outside spa pool was a bonus nice and very relaxing. Gym was a good size and well Equipped. We found a lovely pub locally 10 -15 min walk Dog and Partridge and a lovely Indian restaurant got dinner. Pub had lovely outside seating area and atmosphere inside was very pleasant and served food.

Overall, a lovely place to stay with great facilities and friendly staff, lovely breakfast - plenty of choice, the room we had was a little dated and could use a freshen up, but that is my only criticism.

Room comfortable enough but in the older part of the house and a little tried. Breakfast was very disappointing, slow to be seated as ignored by staff and had to wait ages for a host to seat us. Dissappointing selection due to much of it gone, coffee was undrinkable as it appeared there appeared to be a lack of "coffee beans" and hence very weak. Requested another pot that never arrived. Not alone as 3 other tables had the same issue.
