Arundel is home to some of the most beautiful sights in Sussex. Home to the Duke of Norfolk, Arundel Castle is one of the grandest and most cared for castles on the South Coast. The castle also boasts a private garden for visitors, displaying some of the most beautiful flowers and plants native to the UK. Perfect in Spring and Summer! Arundel Cathedral is another one of the gems of this small town with stunning architecture and regular services, it is certainly worth a visit.
Parking is a little tricky in Arundel but there a lot of streets with free parking available. All along Maltravers St is free parking, however, if you cannot find something there, we recommend driving up the hill towards the Cathedral and you should find parking there. If still not, there is paid parking available behind The Swan pub at the bottom of the high street, and also along Mill Road opposite the castle.
Access to the property is via a smartlock system, giving convenience to arrive whenever suits you. Instructions will be sent 24 hours prior to your stay.
As it name may suggest, 'The Bakery' used to be the local bakery for the town of Arundel. In fact, the original bakery oven still exists in the kitchen of this unique property. ‘The Bakery’ is grade II listed building located at the top of the high street in Arundel providing accommodation for 6 guests. There are two bedrooms upstairs with king size beds and two full bathrooms. There is also an additional sofa bed located on the ground floor, with access to the first floor bathroom. The ground floor also contains the living area, complete with original painted wooden beams and a gas fireplace to enjoy on colder nights. On the lower ground floor is an impressive modern kitchen featuring the old bakery oven. There is a washing machine and dryer here alongside a cloakroom. The lower ground floor leads to the private patio, a perfect spot to have morning coffee or wind down in the evening when the weather permits!
