The rooms were very dated and in need of decoration. There was a very loud noise ( a pump maybe) in our room whenever someone anywhere in the hotel turned a tap on. There was no choice for breakfast . I don't eat meat so the initial suggestion was the full English without the bacon and sausages. Eventually some fruit and a yogurt were found: no cereals or pastries. I had emailed the hotel before our visit to yell them it was our wedding anniversary and to ask for one of their more romantic rooms. When we arrived we were given a very small room with single beds. When I reminded them of my request we were given a better room with a double bed. James, the member of staff in charge that afternoon did try very hard to make things right. In fact all the staff were friendly and helpful it was just that the "product" the Saracen Head was offering was below par and definitely over priced for what you got.

Car parking should have been give more explanation. Although free, it was difficult to locate in the dark and off a busy road when it was a way down from the actual Inn.

Not bad for an overnight stay

Pros: Breakfast, location, staff
Cons: Some sound proofing on the door and thick curtains on the windows, which will improve sounds from the pavement and road as well as the light.
Location: very close to high street, found free parking nearby
As in other reviews i think it depends on what room you get. We had the first room on the right as you come out of the pub which is on the main road. The room itself was fine but having such a thin door and no curtains just blinds, meant that there was quite a bit of noise and light in the morning. Bed was comfy and room was warm, though I found that being on the left hand side of the bed meant that you are right next to the radiator and it does belt out some heat, I'm sure you can adjust it though, i just didn't know which way to turn the thermostatic valve! As for breakfast, this was really very good. Full english cooked well is a good start to the day! Also, the guys in the place are really friendly. Didn't get to speak to the owner much, Ceri I believe, but he was very nice and we also had a good chat to the bloke who was serving. Overall, a nice B&B and a good location if you need an overnight stay in Amersham.

We really enjoyed staying here. The landlord and staff were friendly and helpful. The bar is full of locals and has a great atmosphere.
