Many thanks for taking the time to give us a review. The bed sizes should certainly be as advertised, but I will confirm. Glad this did not detract from your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back soon

Room wasn’t very clean. Robes had stains on them. We were first shown to a room with no window and then only room offered overlooked cat park and had dirty windows. Nice bed and bathroom but toilet room was smelly. On plus side great public rooms for relaxing and working. Lovely garden and breakfast dining space plus gym and indoor pool. Central location. I’d say to book a high room at rear of the property for the best views.

Good hotel let down by poor food.

I’d stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and was looking forward to going back, especially as we were celebrating a special occasion. Whilst the hotel still has a nice ambience and the staff are great - it seems the food standards have really dropped. Which is a problem given that the hotel du vin brand is all about good food and wine. The fish for our evening meal was over cooked and dry. The breakfast was limp and greasy. Oh and by the way, it’s not just me being picky - the next day I spoke with a couple of colleagues who live in Exeter and they said they don’t eat at the hotel anymore. In fact one said you get a better French bistro meal at Cote! So come on HDV - up your game!

Nice hotel but next to busy road.

Traffic noise throughout the night means no sleep.

Dear Guest I'm sorry to learn you were disturbed by traffic during the night. Whilst we are in the heart of the city, our guests are not normally disturbed. Please request a quiet room on your next visit. Kind regards Fiona Darde

Single room,1 night

Overall it wasn't what I ordered! I booked a double room but due to overbooking and being the only one staying I was bumped to a single room which wasn't ideal. However they compensated me and included breakfast though service was slow and I don't think I've ever had such badly cooked boiled eggs especially when I asked for hard boiled. Service in the bar was slow. Menus were hard to come by and I had to go to the bar to order. Whilst it was pleasant it is frustrating when a weekend away has flaws.

Lovely hotel and grounds close to Exeter centre

Had a lovely weekend away at this hotel, the building is lovely and the rooms were very comfortable, but quite small. My only concern was when I looked under the bed, it was thick with dust. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and it was very good. over all a very pleasant and relaxing place to stay.
