The hotel is very small lack basic amenities there’s nowhere for a family to gather other than in their room or inside the restaurant while you’re eating there are no chairs or couches anywhere we wanted to play cards with our children. There was nowhere to do it. there’s only one restaurant That serves the same disgustingfood for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Four of us got food poisoning from the ceviche because it not marinated long enough before served raw. The inclusive package is not applied properly at this hotel. It’s a money grab tactic. They tell you New Year’s Eve dinner is not included. You can only start eating at check-in time even though you arrive hours earlier you no longer have access to the all-inclusive checkout time, even though your flight is at 10 PM on departure. Getting room towels is a complete battle every single day. Housekeeping doesn’t come around till 6 PM even if you leave your room at 6 AM. The beach is terrible so much grass very small and rocky in areas. There’s absolutely no entertainment. I have no idea how this hotel got five stars.

This is a hotel not a resort, so it doesn’t have all the amenities that a resort would have. The staff are great, Jose the bar tender up at the sky lounge was great!! All the waiters around the pool were awesome. We only had 1 restaurant for the 9’days that we were at this hotel, so this was a little disappointing, but mixing it up with trips in town was great. Highly recommend this place if your looking to stay on the island

We have stayed here 18 nights in the past 12 months. The rooms are great. Pool is good, nice views. The restaurant is marginal, we are not into buffets. Poorly managed restaurant. Still like the hotel, we eat all over the island! We will be back.

The hotel was okay, but our experience was far from ideal. We booked through Expedia for the same night due to issues with our VRBO rental. Upon arrival, we were told they only had three of the rooms we had reserved. After checking further, they found a fourth room but informed us we’d need to wait an hour for it to be cleaned. While I understand this may have been an issue with Expedia’s system, not the hotel itself, it was still frustrating. This was after 7 p.m., and when we booked through Expedia, it clearly indicated that four rooms were available. We tried to cancel and book at the hotel next door, but the front desk staff informed us they couldn’t cancel the reservation, and we couldn’t get a hold of Expedia. So, we had no choice but to wait. We decided to dine at the hotel restaurant, which turned out to be one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. The buffet style was poor, and despite informing them of my husband’s peanut allergy, he ended up getting sick from an item containing peanuts. The room itself was acceptable but definitely run-down. The fan made a cracking noise every time it was turned on, there was a hair between the sheets, and the room had a musty smell. I was surprised by the hotel’s high rating because it certainly didn’t reflect the condition of the property. However, in an emergency situation, it did the job. Unfortunately, the hotel’s overall condition was subpar, and based on my experience, I would not stay here again or recommend it to others.

Terrible food/buffet (all inclusive). Two restaurants on site. One is closed for renovations (they don’t tell you that when booking). Room service not included in all inclusive package (absurd). AMAZING staff. Room smelled of mildew but clean. Rooms do not have a fridge. Amazing views. Fine bar. Would not return because I’d rather starve than eat there again. It’s obvious they cut corners in the kitchen. Bland and unseasoned food. Tasteless and gross. Looks very unappetizing because the presentation was bad. Limited food options. Too bad. Hotel had great potential.

We were able to have an amazing vacation at Isla Hotel because of the amazing staff at the facility. However, we have stayed at many All-Inclusive resorts and this one is only “some exclusive”. We didn’t find out about the exclusions until we arrived. This is when the front desk manager shared that some menu items aren’t available, some alcohol is limited, there are no drinks or snacks provided in the room (no refrigerator and no drinks), and room service is not included. There were coffee packets and room temperature water on the dresser. Yes, you read that right and we paid for all inclusive. Additionally, our first room which claimed would have a “sea view” was on 2nd floor above the kitchen with a view of a roof and tops of palm trees. Immediately after check-in, I reached out to Expedia with a limited connection begging someone to call me via phone. After three lengthy “chat” sessions with limited WiFi connectivity, I gave up. On the second day, I requested a different room, and by the end of that day, we were moved to a room with the view we expected. We met amazing team members that worked hard and we were grateful for them, but we will likely not return to this resort. I am also hesitant to continue booking through Expedia as they left me in a very bad spot in a foreign country when I needed their assistance. This resort should not have an up charge for all inclusive if they can’t support the offering properly.

Beautiful pool, nicest staff, beautiful water views, good sized rooms. Hated the constant loud music at beach, completely ruins the serenity of the setting. Rooms need better coffee makers like Mespresso or Keurig.

The room at this property was Cleaning comfortable. Our room was over the restaurant which made it very noisy around 5 AM every day. The amenities said we had a refrigerator in the room. We went and bought beverages and found out the refrigerator did not work. The people at the front desk were very rude When we called five times asking for maintenance. maintenance never came to our room. We ended up buying a cooler. The pool at this hotel seemed clean and nice. If you are looking for a beautiful beach and swimming in the ocean, this is not the hotel for you. The beach is very rocky. The chairs were broken. Would not recommend if you’re wanting to hang out at the beach overall I give this property a three.

The staff are great, and all inclusive meals and alcohol made it a great deal. Highly recommend booking airport shuttle through the hotel because you have to take a ferry and it was nice that they handled that for us. Food was okay… wish there was more than one restaurant. Get the chicken nachos and chicken quesadillas. This is included if you order by the pool. The beach was lame and I wish they had indoor activities. Room was great… big and clean. Spa was great too. Staff were universally kind, bed was so comfy, and the beach was small, but uncrowded and lovely. Private balcony with ocean views was dreamy. Only 1 of the 2 restaurants was operating, and only 1 of the 2 bars, but the pina coladas were fabulous. Can't believe they didn't have scrambled eggs or sausage for the breakfast buffet. Most disappointing was the coffee situation. Cheap little single-cup coffee brewer in the room and I had to repeatedly request (dry) creamer and it came in little packets and was clumpy. A Keurig or Nespresso coffee maker in the room, or even just liquid creamer, would have made my mornings so much better. And cold water readily available in the lobby would have been a wonderful touch. Also, there was no ice available anywhere in the hotel -- had to visit the bar to get some. Last, they could turn off the piped-in music sometimes--perhaps after 8 pm. We really wanted the chance to sit on the beach and listen just to the ocean and the gulls, but always had the annoyance of music competing with natural sounds. All in all, we had a great stay, but some little touches would have done a lot to improve the experience for us. In a great area if you want to stay away from the crowds up north, with easy taxi access to Playa Norte, Punta Sur, or anywhere you might want to go.

Dont be fooled by the photos. The hotel itself is nice but you are trapped or have to get a taxi or rent a golf cart to do anything. The food was terrible. Only 1 of 2 restaurants open. Pools were freezing cold. Not a fun trip. Area around is dirty and seemed unsafe at night. No activities. No real beach. Too much seaweed or grass.
