No Heating

Room 618n had no heating on one of the coldest nights. The hotel was fully booked so was unable change rooms. A very small portable radiator was supplied for a very big room. Very unhappy Staff did there best to help - but unfortunately it does help when your cold? It wasns't so GRAND

Don’t knock more than twice in the morning plz

In general our stay in the Gran Hotel Birmingham could’ve been better. The overall experience was nice, hotel still in good condition, but the service wasn’t not as good as excepted. Tiny blood shades on bed sheet, as well as hair. The fire alarm went off as a test but no one noticed us. Someone tried to open my room door in the morning while I was talking on the phone, later knocked twice while I was in the bathroom. Guests’ privacy need to be respected, thanks a lot.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The experience was convenient. The staff were incredibly accommodating. They kept our luggage after check out so we could explore more of the area, which was very helpful.

Nice hotel and room, terrible pillows!

1 night stay with a friend, room was really nice, spacious and clean. However as is often the way in some hotels, the lighting was very poor, plus the pillows were awful! 3 of the 4 were incredibly lumpy and the other one was just plain uncomfortable, would’ve expected better for the standard of the hotel and suggest this is looked at.

This is a beautiful property. Fabulous ballroom. Sadly usual problem of mirror not having a chair or surface nearby to enable hair and makeup. I wish hotels would take this into account. We do not like to do hair and makeup standing in a steamy bathroom! Thanks.

The Grand Hotel Birmingham

Amazing room and amenities. Easy check in and out. Good check out time (12 am) so plenty of time to get ready to get sorted ready to leave. Also really nice shower and soaps. Great room service and bar however the bar was a bit pricey(£5.50 for a small bowl of nuts that didn’t taste great) drinks on the other hand were impeccable and worth that little bit extra would highly recommend.

A fabulous hotel, which we have stayed at before. Beautiful room and communal areas, which smell gorgeous. Breakfast was freshly made to order and service was really efficient and attentive. Our only negative reflection on this visit was the service in Madeleine’s. We had booked a table and enjoyed an hour and a half of drinks, until we were told that our table had another reservation on it and we needed to leave straight away as the next guests had arrived early, despite the fact that I had just ordered a cocktail and my partner was half way through his drink. I completely understand that tables have time limits on them, but nobody advised us of this when we were seated, or at any point. We weren’t offered seats at the bar to finish our drinks, so I cancelled my cocktail order, which we were then charged for. We will return to the hotel as it is a gorgeous spot, but will find somewhere else for cocktails next time, as we were left feeling very unwelcome.
