the room was tidy and clean, not spotless but clean enough. the staff were welcoming and there was always someone at the desk if needed. bed was very comfortable and everything we needed was available. will definitely be back again if required

Was checked in a room where there were stains of blood on the bed curtains, pee all over the toilet seat and the floor. The lady at the reception dismissed me and refused to help. I left the premises to find a cafe with a toilet and contacted hotels.com customer service. The person on the chat seemed willing to help and promised I was going to be contacted by hotels.com for a refund etc but never been contacted back. As the weather was horrible, I had to go back and at the reception there was another person. Showed pictures and videos of the room to prove my claim as the unhelpful colleague wrote in the system it wasn't true. At the end, he moved me to a different room and firstly on a bed I couldn't use due to disabilities. I only slept 1 out of 2 nights on the bed. The cleaning ladies only collect towels, change bedding and leave a toilet paper roll. So I bought my own cleaning products and kept the toilet clean. Upon arrival, the lady at the reception did not even tell me the kitchen and dining area were upstairs. Found it out just before leaving from another guest.

Handy hostel
Comfortable room although a bit warm overnight, good location for New Street and Snow Hill and friendly staff. Bedding, towels and soap provided. Lounge facility was ok and kitchenette did the job it needed to.

The room wash beautiful at first glance. However, the walls were marked, stains on the couch, tap was loose. The bathroom was dirty, there was someone else’s hair in the shower. At night time we could smell cigarette in our room despite our window being closed. However it was all negative!! The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfy. They had lots of different events on. It was pretty reasonably priced and not too far from the city.

Really good if you just need a place to sleep, only thing that concerned me was I had a top bunk that squeaked every time I turned during the night which I was really conscious about waking others in my room, but I would definitely stay there again

The worst hotel experience
One of the worst hotel experience that I ever had.. The checkin staff girl is nice, but the room have no ventilation system. The room is so hot and smelly, I sleep really bad because of this. The guy is rude when I checked out in the early morning and I dont really recommend to stay here.

We booked a double room with private bathroom. Suprisingly spacious. Comfy bed. Basic but did the trick for what we needed and in a great location.

I have stayed here quite a few times under the previous ownership and it has always been clean tidy and well kept up. this time when i stayed here, the mattress should have been replaced at least a month earlier, the shelf was being held up by 2 fast food wrappers, and the bins in the room were full and didnt look like they were being collected on a regular basis. I will give them one more chance to show that they improve otherwise i will not be staying here agin
