Local attractions:
Downtown Venice - there is a free public parking lot. Browse the shops or grab ice cream at Kilwins.
Casperson Beach - there are bike trails where you can see tortoises and snakes. There are also some small reefs where you can see a variety of fish if you snorkel and the water is calm. The parking lot here fills up fairly quick so get there early. There are no concessions nearby. Follow directions to Sharkys and just drive past it - GPS will lead you in the wrong direction.
Venice Beach - This is where Sharky’s restaurant and the pier are. Plenty of parking and really nice beach
Kayaks or paddle board rentals - Jetty rentals in Nokomis
Hecksher Park - Shuffleboard, tennis courts
Ideal Classic Cars - Huge collection of cars to dream of purchasing when you win lotto.
The Jetty - Almost guaranteed to see a dolphin or two and probably the best place in town to watch sunset.
Myakka State Park - Cool canopy walkway
Bowling & Movie theatre are close by and great for a rainy day
Northport Aquatic Center - This place is great for kids!! There’s a massive pool and a few waterslides and a lazy river. Its fairly inexpensive and will entertain them for the day
Harley of Sarasota - You can pick out your next ride
Sarasota area:
Big Cat Habitat - Rescued tigers, ligers and other exotics. Impressive to see them in person.
Livingston’s amusements - Billiards, video games, bumper cars and go-carts. All indoors and another good rainy day activity
Evie’s mini golf
Siesta Key Beach - white sand - looks other planetary. Parking is limited so plan accordingly.
