Our family stayed here (1 1/2 year old baby) And the experience was amazing! The hotel is so super cute and Rich and character. Instead of a lifeless chain hotel you really get the local vibe. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is amazingly nice, friendly and personable, there is fresh coffee available 24 seven and the breakfast in the morning is delicious! we are so glad we found this perfect little gem in the most incredible location in Saint Pete.

Like stepping into a fairytale set in the 50’s. What a classy place! Our room was large and comfortable and seemed to absorb you when you entered. It had all of the amenities, like you mostly don’t see anymore in modern chain hotels. Everything was well maintained and pristine clean. The breakfast was magnificent. We stumbled onto a jewel. We will be back

Great for a short stay, as it is a bed and breakfast, rooms are very clean and historic. Nice breakfast with a variety of food. Unfortunately no beach within walking distance.

Cozy but dated

Air quality & smells are a big factor in a hotel stay for my family due to allergy and asthma conditions. Carpeting and air conditioning that produces moisture and mildew smells almost always causes asthma flare up for my kiddos, which is exactly what happened when we stayed. I booked 5 nights but left after the first night. I also needed to work from the hotel and there wasn’t a desk. The bed was lopsided and very hard/firm. I would have rather slept on an airbed. Bringing luggage in/out was also a bear, as the entrance only has stairs. A positive was the check in process, which was contactless.

What a wonderful stay!

It was a wonderful 2-day stay there. Very convenient to get to this hotel. Hotel is beautiful and historic. The staff is super nice. Room was cozy and clean. We were very happy with our stay and will take advantage of their loyalty program in the future.

Absolutely loved Crystal Bay, staff was friendly, room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh. It gave a 1950s Hollywood Hotel feel. Such a good vibe all around. Will be back next year!

Like others, I’m not sure how this hotel is rated so high. I’ll start by walking in when you get slapped in the face by the smell of mildew. It is so damp in the building. I understand trying to keep the “historic charm” but man that carpet has to go! I’d say you can have wood or laminate flooring but that brings me to my next complaint which was the floors. I’m not sure how that place is standing w/ how crooked the floors are! I’m talking sections that go up 8-10” higher in some areas. Our room was a disaster for floors. I don’t think a box of cereal would stand on the floors. I wouldn’t advise being under the influence walking around there as you will likely fall on your face. Everything in that room was off. Levels clearly didn’t exist when it was built or redone. You could look & see where the ceiling was so uneven as well as the floor by looking at the bed. The bed on the left side was probably 5-6” lower than the right side & it was not comfortable. Definitely not for being 8 months pregnant trying not to be rolled into my husband. My daughter who intended to sleep on the pull out bed… nope! You could feel every spring so she also had to sleep in the bed w/ us & try not to fall into each other like bowling pins. As if we didn’t feel uncomfortable enough, the only channel the tv would let us watch was “true crime” like we were about to face our fate in the old creaky motel. There’s more but ran out of space! No parking-Truck vandalized-popping outlets-cooked food no good

A lovely place

A lovely hotel! I felt like a VIP. The historic atmosphere was a real plus, but didn’t miss any modern amenities. They upgraded us free, and I loved the convenience of contact free checkin. A great value, and a wonderful breakfast. We plan to tell others about our stay here.
