The good: -The nightly shows were amazing!! The performers were absolutely brilliant. I truly enjoyed every show. -The rooms were cleaned every day. They were modern, and had good AC. -Lovely cenotes on the property. Well maintained grounds.  We enjoyed seeing the monkeys around the resort, especially the babies. -The beach was very pretty and well kept. However, we prefer a beach with less rocks.  Very difficult to enjoy the water here without scraping, cutting yourself. The not so good: -It's almost impossible to get reservations at the restaurants. If you wake up at midnight to reserve, you may or may not get lucky.  Doesn't help that some restaurants are closed on certain nights. -Buffets were mediocre, with long lines.  There is very limited food options between service hours. Not ideal for people who arrived from a different time zone. -Constantly trying to be upsold an exclusive/royal/elite membership. There's not a single hammock/cabana in a family friendly non-exclusive area of the resort.  These are things that you usually don't have to pay extra for.  There are also multiple restaurants that you will not have access to without purchasing the membership. -Our mini fridge didn't get stocked for the first 5 days.  Compared to the other resorts in the area, service was poor. -Lastly the raccoons. I know it is a eco resort, and one of the main reason we choose this resort was because of this theme.  That being said the racoons are out of control.

An ok family resort Cuisine: We aren’t very big “foodies” and don’t wine and dine around for the finest food. We are very basic and were pretty disappointed in the food. We were only able to get to the international buffet. The other buffet wasn’t worth it compared. Expect long wait to get any drink and don’t expect to be offered a refill. Expect to see a lot of wildlife. We didn’t mind and they didn’t mind us. Workers are working so hard to keep this mini village alive and clean. I can’t imagine the work that goes into maintaining it here. Expect to walk.. lots. It’s very rare to get a room close to the pool/beach or the water park. Aqua park: this is the main reason we booked here. We have two young children and we knew they would be busy there for hours. There was 3 main waterslide areas. The main area tailored to small children, the mid level, and the bigger water slides. We had no idea there was height requirements for the slides. We weren’t able to go on the small and mid level even with our nervous kids. Which was a let down. Our 7 year old couldn’t go on the big ones and was super disappointed the others were to amateur for his age. We weren’t really sure why he couldn’t go on those since most of the big ones you’d see in a standard hotel. Beach: very rocky. Wear water shoes or take your time. Weather: we travelled mid Dec and only had one sunny day out of 7. Make sure you take the umbrellas they have in the rooms! Most workers don’t speak English so trying t

The service wasn’t good at all, hard to get food and the only food you can get after 11 is burrito, and they weren’t very good. My kid was starving and we couldn’t get room service. We have to have a black bracelet. My last resort I stayed at you can get room service anytime doesn’t matter what kind of bracelet you have.. there was no snacks or food in our room only on the first day of arrival. Would not recommend staying here and will not be staying here again.

We loved the wildlife roaming around the property! Resort was clean - there is always somebody leaf blowing/removing beaches and water. Housekeeping came every day and rooms were cleaned wonderfully. Mini bar stocked every second day. Pools were clean and fun ! Will stay here again :)

I would go somewhere else!
Sandos eco resort looked great online. We upgraded to the penthouse suite with the hot tub on the balcony. When arriving we didn't get a good overview of the resort. Then getting to the room it was nice. But we ended up having engineering there 4 separate times to fix separate things. Then management didnt seem to care or want to move us. The water for the tub / shower were cold. Along with all of the pools and jacuzzi. They keep the water temps starting at 70 deg F. Which after getting a massage we would have liked to sit in a HOT tub to relax. The jetted tub the jets didn't work and took 30min to fill. So save your money and don't upgrade! We pick this place for tge adults only area. But there were kids everywhere. Which you cannot have any beverage by the pool or jacuzzi. The alcohol was the bottom shelf liquor. No name brands except for at the beach bar. Which then there was only one I recognized. The restaurants, most food was goid. But the buffets close to change over and there are tines you cannot get anything to eat. Also the popular restaurants you have yo make reservations for. But the only open up the reservations at 12am for the day. If you are not on right then to get reservations, you will not get reservations at the restaurants. The buffets and taco bar are walk in. The beach is really rocky! Bring water shoes to wear on the beach or go into the water. Goid points: the spa was great. Also seeing all the animals and cenote.

This property was a great experience for our family. The kids loved the wildlife roaming free and the aquapark (even though the big slides weren't working) along with the variety of shows offered. Would recommend to those with children, but not as an adults only trip.

Everything about the hotel was ok, staff were kind, food was OK, rooms were clean, good place for families to have a good time. One thing that was very annoying was the aqua park. Reason number one why we booked was because of aqua park, we showed up and half of it was closed, it was not mentioned anywhere in website, no one told us, they were happy to advertise the water park being open, take our money and when we got there it was no one's fault, that was very disappointing.
