I ended up in the unenviable position of having to spend the night in NY when my connecting flight at JFK was rescheduled. I honestly would have slept in the airport if possible because my opinion of NY is so low. That wasn't possible though so I researched the hotels that were easily walked to from an air train station and found this to be the most reasonably priced. It has a very low user rating which surprised me since it's a Holiday Inn and I decided taking the chance was better than spending an extra hundred dollars on the higher rated hotels. I was very happy with the choice as it is just a few minutes walk from the train station and the property itself is great. Rooms are smaller than normal but that's expected. The area is not good but didn't feel unsafe, at least not by NY standards. In all, it was a good experience and if I ever am in the same position again, which I will pray that I am not, I would stay at the hotel again.

The hotel was clean and fresh and reasonable for JFK area hotels. Its convenient access to the nearby train station is a big plus. Getting around the Queens area is not traveler friendly.

The property is clean inside - lobby as well as the rooms. There is some graffiti outside as one walks down a bit from the building but not too concerning right now. It would be great to see it cleaned.

Nice hotel
I needed a quick, late night check-in at a nice hotel close to one of the NYC hospitals. The Holiday Inn Express - Jamaica met my needs exceptionally well. I enjoyed a comfortable overnight stay, and was able to return to the hospital early the next morning.
