The room itself was cosy and clean, although the fan heater was very noisy and had to be switched off at night. Whilst this location is ideally located (approx 20 min train ride to JFK Airport and 40 mins to central Manhattan), the area where the hotel is, is incredibly deprived and felt very unsafe. On day one at check in, I even observed the hotel employee allowing two individuals, who were clearly under substance influence, into the building and handed them the bathroom key. Very scary.

The holiday day Inn express IGA is one of my favorite hotels to stay. Especially for location. I am a business woman and thus travel a lot. Whenever my travels takes me to NY, I always seek out this place first and foremost for my stay. Its not the quietest, (I guess because its an airport hotel, so people always up and about to get ready for travel), but its definitely top ranking om the list for being more quiet and peaceful, than most. I would highly recommend the holiday Inn express.
