This was my first time staying in the city. The reviews were very good and I was not disappointed when seeing for myself. The staff was very friendly, professional and very helpful in every aspect. The room was clean, spacious and even equipped with a kitchenette. The bed was very comfy as well. Wonderful stay and would happily return.

Great Visit, large room and great customer service
We had a great stay. I was out for business and brough my family. The room was big enough for everyone which is great and hard to find in New York. The service was incredible, anything we needed they had, and they were very polite. There was enough room in the hotel room to bring in a rollaway bed when we had a visitor for the day. I highly recommend this hotel

I chose this location because I used to live nearby on E. 63rd St., so I was familiar with the area. The hotel was clean and the room I booked through Expedia (with an attached apartment area; which is totally private, I was a little concerned because the price was so reasonable) and the staff was exceptionally friendly. There are plenty of great dining options close by, making it convenient for meals and as a plus getting to LaGuardia Airport was a breeze. Highly recommend the car service arranged through the hotel. I used the “premium uber black suv” to get to the hotel, HOWEVER the return booked through the hotel was less than 1/2 the price of the Uber. Contact the hotel for details (like everything in NYC plata is king, no 💳)!

Frequently stay in East Midtown for work, but first time staying at the San Carlos. Great choice - will definitely choose again. Clean (large) room, courteous and helpful staff.

Subpar bedding.
The room was spacious - plenty of places to sit. But there was no sheet on the bed, only a heavy duvet. So the choices were not be covered or be too hot (with AC settings down to the minimum temp). The pillows were lumpy. And ever-so-slightly smelly. Once you smell musty pillows, you can’t unsmell them. The mattress was comfortable, and the desk staff are very friendly. But the pillows, ugh.

We enjoyed a delightful stay at San Carlos. The entire staff eagerly do whatever they can to accommodate. The rooms are a nice size, well appointed and kept very clean. The location is ideal: walking distance to Broadway shows, but a quieter street. Lots of dining options in the immediate area. We will be back!
