In disrepair, poor service... but still OK.
I normally don't review on here but I had to let people know this hotel is disrepair and the service is quite bad. Ultimately it was fine for the price but only because the staff had no idea they switched us to a 2-room suite. I argued with them upon checkin because they had no idea what they were giving us. When I gave in and accepted, and we got to the room, it was 100% different than how they described it. They just had no clue. Hotel staff is bad at answering the phone. Shower was broken 2/4 nights. Elevator down button didn't work. Many other broken things or missed details. Not a 5-star experience. Again, this hotel cannot charge a premium price even though it's supposedly a 5-star hotel. When you get there, you find out why. Very poorly run property. Too bad, because it's otherwise nice and in a nice area. We didn't mind being a little far from the city center, but only because the price was cheap.

The property and the staff were fine with one major exception. The room advertised indicated it slept 4 (king suite) there was a king size bed and sofa the sofa was not a pullout bed it was a sofa so if 3 sleep in the king size bed and one on the sofa I guess that's 4 but that's not right. When I complained I was told my only option was to rent a bed for 65 pounds per night. Seems like they could have extended a courtesy I mean it's not like bed is costing them money but they would not. I paid it and Expedia refunded it to me Thankyou Expedia. But I did not appreciated being nickeled and dimed this way. I also made it clear to the hotel that I had 4 guests because when I booked it mistakenly said 2 travelers. Expedia put in a notification that I had 4 travelers and they said they received the notification and brushed it off and said it's just a request and means nothing to them. To be clear I spoke with a manager not a clerk. The 65 pounds to me is not the issue it was that it was that they apparently felt I had no choice so let's squeeze another 65 pounds from him. Not the way to build a customer relationship that would want to make me stay there again. didn't need to profit from it but they chose to.

My recent stay was deeply disappointing due to the poor service provided by Azhur and the front desk staff. From the beginning, it was clear they did not have our best interests at heart. We dropped off our bags at 1pm and confirmed that our room would be set up for three people. This had been assured via email by Bia Bunch. However, at 5pm, the room was set up for only two. Bianca at the front desk assured us this would be fixed by our return from dinner. When we returned at 11pm, nothing had been done. Azhur and Bianca promised to bring up sheets to make the sofa bed. After 30 minutes of waiting, we had to call and chase them, wanting only to sleep. By midnight, Azhur arrived, only to discover that our "sofa bed" was just a sofa. This is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel, especially since we paid for a suite to accommodate four and had written confirmation for three. Their only response was that they were fully booked and nothing could be done. This is not an appropriate response. As a result, I had to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa with makeshift bedding. My sleep was disrupted, and my experience was ruined by having to chase staff for basic accommodations until midnight. I am profoundly disappointed with the customer service at The Chelsea Harbour Hotel. Smita at the front desk acknowledged the unacceptable nature of our experience and assured us that a full refund would be approved, we are still waiting, after chasing.
