San Marco Retreat - Perfect for families!

Summary:
Spend a night or a month in this cute bungalow in the Miramar area! This house is a short 5 min drive to "downtown" San Marco's shops and restaurants, a 10 min drive to TIAA Bank Field, a 15 min drive to the St John's Town Center, and a 20 min drive to the Mayo Clinic & Ponte Vedra! It is perfect for close friends, family (and pets) to enjoy a short (or long!) stay.

The Space:
This house is a four bedroom home. The main bedroom with ensuite bathroom is located on one side of the house. The remaining three rooms share a bathroom on the other side of the house.

Please note: the 4th bedroom (twin-over-twin trundle bed) is a sunroom and does not have a door.

The Neighborhood:
Surrounding our home, there is a variety of dining options where guests can explore and find restaurants for everyone to enjoy. If you're looking to enjoy a nice cup of coffee, wine or delicious food you're just a few steps away to the Southern Grounds. Near our Fresh Bungalow you can find what are considered some of the best restaurants in Jacksonville which includes Taverna, The Bearded Pig, Matthews, Town Hall, V's Pizza or Rue Saint Marc or for those home chefs you can swing by a fantastic local butcher at Clines Custom Meats.

Getting Around:
Located off the beaten path just south of San Marco, Miramar is a neighborhood with a unique history and atmosphere of its own.

While in town, be sure to visit the ORIGINAL Metro Diner (3/4 mile north of you), which is a chain now with dozens of restaurants located in 12 states.

Additionally, San Marco, one of Jacksonville's cutest, most walkable neighborhoods is just a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk north of you. Its main commercial area, San Marco Square is filled with boutiques, restaurants, bars, and even a 2 screen independent movie theater and a playhouse! It is the perfect location for an evening stroll while supporting local businesses.

This property is a short drive from downtown Jacksonville as well as San Marco Square. Stay here with family and friends for the annual Florida - Georgia game!

We charge for additional guests above a fixed amount. This amount and additional charge varies by unit type, size, and configuration. If you input the correct guest count when you make your reservation the amount the booking site indicated as the total cost will not change (due to guest count). We ask for confirmation of guest count after you complete your booking. If you need to increase your guest count after booking confirmation due to a booking error, this could result in a price increase. Finally, we verify guest count via external cameras located on our properties. In the event that we notice a guest count at the property that is higher than reported, we reserve the right to ask for additional guest fees that would be double the amount we would have charged prior to check-in.

Kindly refer to the following guidelines regarding fees for extra guests:
Studio & 1 BR units - $25 per guest/night after 2 guests (i.e. 3 guests would be $25/night extra and 4 guests would be $50/night extra)
2 BR units - $30 per guest/night after 4 guests (i.e. 5 guests would be $30/night extra and 6 guests would be $60/night extra)
3 BR unit - $35 per guest/night after 6 guests (i.e. 7 guests would be $35/night extra and 8 guests would be $70/night extra)
4 BR units - $40 per guest/night after 8 guests (i.e. 9 guests would be $40/night extra and 10 guests would be $80/night extra)
5 BR+ units - $45 per guest/night after 10 guests (i.e. 11 guests would be $45/night extra and 12 guests would be $90/night extra)

We are pet friendly and charge $50 per night per pet for short term stays. For longer stays, we charge $250 per week and $500 per month per pet. If you are booking with us and are bringing a pet please let us know ahead of time! This fee is non-negotiable for any animal.

This fee is not included in the accommodation fare rate. We will send a request for the additional funds once the number of pets is confirmed after booking.

There is in unit laundry in the bungalow.

Events/parties are strictly prohibited and will result in a $1000 fine. A party / event is in effect any time the guest count exceeds either the maximum allowable on the property or the amount of guests booked.

We have a 7 day minimum rental for local guests (defined as the guest living within 100 miles of Jacksonville). Exceptions to policy are extremely rare but will be considered on a case by case basis.

A TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, ESPN+ and an HDTV antenna is available but there is NO CABLE.

Also, Saturday check-ins and check-outs are (generally) not allowed unless you are booking a stay that is >7 days, with the exception of some specific weekends (FL-GA and TPC Sawgrass weekends are a few examples). I may allow an exception to this policy (depending on the specific weekend and season) but reserve the right not to do so or to ask you to modify of cancel a reservation starting or ending on a Saturday.

The following additional charges apply to late check outs/early arrivals, assuming we can offer this at all (I often can’t so please never assume this will be allowed):

1 hr or less early arrival or late departure: $25
1-2 hr early arrival/late departure: $50
2-3 hr early arrival/late departure: $75
3+ hr early arrival/late departure: $100 or the cost of an additional night’s stay, whichever is more

These fees are primarily in place to highly discourage late checkouts/early arrivals since this causes my cleaning service undue stress to prep the unit prior to your or the next set of guest’s arrival. This also increases the need for them to rush/cut corners, increasing the likelihood of them not cleaning the unit to the high standard which I hold them to.

We have a smart thermostat in place in this apartment and do limit temperatures to the following ranges to reduce our environmental impact:

Summer - 70 to 85 degrees F
Winter - 60 to 75 degrees F

If this is outside of your comfort zone then this apartment may not be a good fit for you.

***Finally, smoking is strictly forbidden anywhere on the property - inside the bungalow or in any outdoor areas***

***If we find cigar/cigarette butts of any kind on the property or evidence of smoking (ash on flat surfaces, empty cigarette packs, etc.) we will assess a $500 cleaning fee in addition to the regular cleaning fee***

For guests requiring a pack n play, high chair, or any other non-standard item, please submit your request at least 7 days before check-in to ensure availability. If the request is made less than 7 days prior to check-in, we will make every effort to accommodate it, but cannot guarantee availability.

Ok Experience
There were some good points about the property (large back yard, nice outside deck, nice neighborhood, plenty of towels and dishes), but was not as clean as we expected, and there were a lot of little problems (broken couch, sticker labels on dishes that kept peeling off, long term clogged up shower - had to call plumber, full trash cans outside, nowhere to put trash, etc.). If improvements are made it could be a nice place to stay.
