Liked out stay. Beautiful property with a nice beach and pool. It was Christmas time and seems like they were short staffed. Took forever to be served at restaurant and because of the holiday there was only one price fixed menu without other options. That should be looked into for future as limited menu at Tiki Bar if you are eating a number of meals and don't eat meat.

We had a great time at Amara Cay. We spent three nights here the week after Thanksgiving and practically had it to ourselves. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Note when booking standard, view does not necessarily mean ocean view. We did upgrade to be able to see the ocean instead of the parking lot. We had fun doing the scavenger hunt and playing bingo. Mikel did a great job with drinks by the pool. Amanda (manager) was very friendly and helpful when needed. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

I booked a partial Oceanview king room based on the pictures that showed up on the Hotels.com website ... they showed palm trees and Oceanview .... my room was on the second floor and my view was mostly of the parking lot ... the ocean was visible but mostly parking lot and the room was above a room that they hotel must have used as an HVAC or laundry service area ... making noise all night. When I asked about the view they said that was it.

I was assigned a room at the end of the floor next to the elevator. It is very noisy inside the room when the elevator is up and down. I requested to a change as I arrived early in the noon. The front desk refused to make any change while I can see there were vacant rooms in the night. The attitude is cold and bad.

Staff at the bar were upset that I only tipped them $5. Didn’t have to give them anything. They started showing rudeness after the fact I gave them $5. Made faces and talked under there breathe as they made it clear they were talking about me.
