Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your wonderful review. We are delighted that you enjoyed our location & staff. We hope that we can welcome you back to McLays Guest House in the future whenever you decide to return to Glasgow. Regards

Excellent value for money. We booked a double ensuite. The guest house is in a central position, it is clean, quiet, fully equipped with toiletries, towels, adjustable radiators in room, comfortable king bed. The breakfast was excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful. It wins no prizes for looks and needs refurbishment, but that is a minor issue if you are using it as a base and only really planning to sleep there.

Great value hotel for price. Hotel is not too far away from all attractions. Short taxi ride from either rail station or easy stroll.

Excellent for the price

This hotel is relatively close to both Glasgow central and Queen Street station about a 12 minutes walk. The rooms are very clean and comfy. The only two things I would say is 1. I e booked three single en suites. the rooms were very different from each other. 1 room had a double bed. 1 single room was tiny with barely any room to move with a single bed and the third room was a single but with a lot of space and was by far the best room. The only other thing is each time you go out you are required to hand your keys in which is abit annoying as when you come back you have to ask reception for your keys back and cant just go straight to your room.

suitable only for those who are young and fit

I thought i had booked a hotel but it turned out to be a guest house, not a hotel. It was a very steep climb to get to the street where it is located, and there was a huge flight of steps to the front door. This guest house is definitely only for those who are young and fit.

Clean and value for money

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was sufficient. Only negative was its situation. I felt that it was just too far from city centre and the roads leading to it were rather hilly.
