Had a lovely trip to Edinburgh. I tolerated our stay at the Cityroomz. The amenities are less than bare essentials. The main issue for us was the noise. Our room faced the street. The bus and trains pass and stop directly in front of the hotel. Accessibility is a major plus, however, the noise is horrendous . Never once was this mentioned in their advertisement. They did offer ear plugs. If you’re dependent on having access to WiFi it’s offered but we no luck connecting. Please not, their lift is not in service and appears to be a permanent issue. It would not be handicap accessible. We were able to leave our luggage at the check in desk as we arrived 4 hours prior to check in. When we checked in, our luggage was already in the room. We were able to store our luggage in a shared closet on our floor at check out while we went about the town before our flight home. If you’re looking for a location near or in the City Center, this was great. Give to ten minute walk to Dean Village, another 15 minute walk to the Royal mile. The staff were exceptional, very polite and professional.

Convenient to walk and discover Edinburgh. Possibility to drop the luggage before check-in. Parking nearby (not too expensive).

Good location

It is a good location meat the castle and x the train to the airport. The room was comfortable. The only problem was the elevator was out on the day we left and we didn't have enough time to take advantage of their offer to help.

The location was really good. The access to the rooms was open to public which didn't feel safe, but everything else was great. The bathroom smelled a little bit bad, I belive because of what came up from the pipes, but nothing major. All in all we had a really good time and liked the hotel and price.

We had a “queen suite” in the building around the corner from where the front desk is. The building and room were very clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Location is perfect, walking distance to trains and buses, around the corner from Edinburgh Castle and all the sites. and the airport bus stops literally outside the front door. There are several pubs within a block, a bunch of restaurants, and a Sainsbury’s across the street. Couldn’t ask for anything better - especially for the price, which was amazing. Thanks for a great stay.

Great Value for you Money

Three of us stayed on a split visit of one night and then three nights. The rooms were comfortable with our only complaint being some black mold in the shower in an otherwise spotless rooms. The rooms were not super fancy or overly large but provided what was needed as a base for our visit to Edinburgh at a very good value. The hotel is located in good walking proximity to restaurants, bars, shops and local transport including a hop on-hop off stop. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the bus station, train station, old town, Dean village so overall, a great value for those looking to visit Edinburgh without the high pocket expense of some hotels.

We would not recommend staying at this hotel as there is a nightclub below which opens every night till 3am and the music is very loud. Room was ok. Lots of shops and pubs close by and easy transport links.

Hotel includes a separate entrance for some rooms. Open door, no room key or security feature needed to access room areas. Felt a bit open and insecure other than that, all good.

The hotel was in a great location for dining and shopping. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. The room was a little dated but it served its purpose and you could not beat the location.

It is centrally located. Without a doubt we would stay here again. Lots of dining around to choose from. Easy walk to the castle, museums. Cost is reasonable. Rooms are fairly quiet. The only thing I had issue with is that there was one toilet paper roll and no back up. I had asked for a second roll to be left and the cleaning staff did that once. The next day, it was only one roll. When you have stomach issues, extra toilet paper helps.

Great size of room with kitchenette. Walkable to most major attractions and shopping. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying for more than a couple of days. Main bed was fine but fold out bed was quite uncomfortable.
