Good hotel for the price and location. About a 15 min walk to the castle and Grassmarket. The only think that made this not great was there was one outlet in the entire room.

Do NOT get assigned room 1-7 as these are in the basement and do not have a window. Room was the size of 8m2 and the bed was touching 3 walls. Claustrophobic as hell and paid way too much -close to 3oo- for that 1 night experience. Never again.
Great hotel. Breakfast is basic but excellent to start the day. Hotel is a 7 min walk from the tram station. Everything is within 15-20 walking distance and there is a supermarket a block a away. Overall a good hotel.
For my fellow American travelers, do not expect the massive suites you get in the US or other parts of the UK and Europe! There is just enough room for beds, a small fold-out desk, and one or two suitcases.
But the location is clean, the staff is super accommodating and friendly, and it's walkable from multiple destinations in Edinburgh.
Our economy rooms were quite small but very clean and comfortable. If you need tissues, take them as they are not included. The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly.
We were about a 15-18 min walk to Edinburgh Castle and Old Town. Convenient to bus and tram stops.
"Bar" is a fridge in the check-in area. Breakfast was a 'continental' free-for-all with insufficient seating for guests- gave it a miss it was so disorganised.Room was minute with small singles. No room facilities such as bottle of water, tea/coffee or iron. Would not use again and would not recommend to others.
I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was especially helpful and cheerful and the location was very convenient. The room was a bit on the small side but had all the necessities...

Hotel and room were very nice and staff was great. Would be better to have a closet or more clothes storage options in room and room is slightly smaller than expected but very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Overall would recommend due to location, hotel and room cleanliness, staff friendliness and very good breakfast.
