This was my third stay at My-Quartermile Apartments. Located in the University area, I've timed it at a seven-minute walk to the Royal Mile (passing Greyfriars Kirk and the National Museum of Scotland). While close to tourist attractions, it offers a welcome calm from the sometimes frenetic Royal Mile. On two previous visits, I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment overlooking The Meadows, which I loved. This time, we reserved a gorgeous two-bedroom apartment. Upon check-in, we were surprised and thrilled to be upgraded to a penthouse apartment. In my experience, these apartments are typically modern and spotless, with fully-equipped kitchens and washing machines. But this, in addition, had an enormously spacious great room overlooking the Meadows on one side, with the other glass wall leading to an enclosed sun room with three exterior glass walls and two doors leading out to the gorgeous rooftop garden with a view of Arthur's Seat. The master bedroom had a wall of windows with a view of Edinburgh Castle. There's an en suite master bath, and a second bathroom off the hallway that has a TV in the shower. The staff are always warm and delightful to work with. We wanted for nothing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
