The Holiday Inn was a terrific base for us to explore & enjoy Edinburgh. I'ts not too long of a walk to the Royal Mile & all that's offered there including Edinburgh Castle. The included breakfast was more than adequate. The rooms are modern & up to date. And the staff were most accommodating.

My husband and I had arrived in a morning of September 5 to the HOLIDAY INN at Edinburgh. We booked standard room two months before and were ready to wait till 3-4 pm to be able to check in. Around 3pm Front desk person with a name MARTIN offer us a room. Martin said that our room is not ready yet but he can offer us another one. We appreciated it and got a keys. It was a room number 201. When we open the door all we can see was the room for the special needs or disability person. The room and bathroom were equipped with pull strings and some other stuff what can help a disability person to stay safe and comfortable. We were not touch anything just left our luggage and left a room. We were back to Front desk and ask Martin to give us another room. Martin refuses to help us. We were agreeing to wait for our room as long as it takes but Martin explained us that this room now IS OUR ROOM and he has nothing else. We booked standard room. Not whatever hotel offered to us. We were asking Martin for 30 min before we understood that it is a useless conversation. We did not like this room because it was very depressing to stay there. Our 3 days in the Edinburg were obviously spoiled. We are traveling a lot. It was the worst experience we ever have got. When we travel we always feel that our satisfaction is the first priority for the Hotels we visited. But not this time. We want back a full refund for this booking

Had a premium twin room on 4th floor. Was excellent in all ways . The window could be opened for fresh air, or closed for quietness. The parking is 10m from the hotel,in the multi-level garage immediately next door. Obtain a ticket from the machine when parking,then present it to hotel reception to pay (discounted) when retrieving the vehicle later. Would stay here again, no question.

Hotel very average but quite pricy. Room not available on time. Window on street level therefore couldn’t open curtains. Lighting very poor. Bathroom good size and clean.

Our room was small and dimple, but impeccable with everything we needed. Staff were amazing, thoughtful, responsive, and very friendly. Pillows were way to hard, but basically it was great.

Hotel is a very short walk to the royal mile and the Castle, very convenient. Plenty of food opportunities nearby. Staff were excellent; knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

I stayed for 3 weeks this summer. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was surface clean but definitely needed a deep clean of carpet, walls and shower
