Great location, highly recommend
Excellent location to explore the city from. Less than a five minute walk from Waverley station and walking distance to lots of the tourist attractions. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suite which was fantastic. The king size bed was really comfortable. Lovely free standing bath and huge shower in the bathroom. Great high quality toiletries too and the bathrobes and slippers were a lovely touch. Great room to unwind in after a day exploring the city. We didn’t use the gym as it looked small. Mainly cardio machines with a few free weights and no benches. But the pool was lovely and warm and the sauna and steam rooms were great to use after a swim.

City room
City double room was ok but very little natural light as only window faced a wall in an air shaft. During night very bright light from hall way shon through large gap under the door, had to cover gap with towel and if anyone used the bathroom during night the bedroom was flooded with light through glass panel in bathroom door. So all in all a reasonably nice room was spoiled by lighting issues.

This hotel is a charm, boasting a prime location just steps away from Calton Hill, Waverley Train Station, the Scott Monument, Edinburgh Castle, St James Quarter mall, and numerous restaurants. From the moment of arrival, I was greeted with warmth and friendliness. The staff demonstrated exceptional diligence and attentiveness to ensure a pleasant stay. The facilities are comfortable, and the property is impeccably clean.

Excellent location near Edinburgh’s main attractions, train station and shopping. Staff are professional, kind and ready to meet your needs. Rooms are quiet and spacious with some nice city views. The restaurant has excellent choices all day long.

the lobby was under construction so it was difficult at times coming in and having to go through the restaurant. We were on the 10th floor and the room was nice, nothing special. Bed was comfortable and the big soaking tub was nice. Staff were all very good and accommodating. Restaurant was nice, especially the breakfast buffet every morning.

The property was about a ten minute walk to the Royal Mile. It is also located near lots of shopping and dining options. There is a mall located around the corner and a tour bus stop across the street. The steamroom, sauna and pool were very clean and great temperatures.

The best thing about this property is the location. The rooms are comfortable enough, but lacks attention to finer details so not really 4*. On the first day, the shower didn't drain, one of the supplied towels had a hole in it, and the temperature control in the room was poorly responsive. Service was attentive, so upon feedback they quickly rectified the first two issues. However, the room remained either too cold or too hot throughout our stay. Tried room service one night, but the food was far overpriced for the quality. The pool is too small for swimming in, and too cold for relaxing in, and bathrobes are not provided while pound coins are needed for the lockers so very impractical for hotel guests.
