We stayed in apartment. The stay was comfortable. Though bed room & living room was small, it had lot of storage space. Wi-Fi was fine. It's Kitchen was good. However some cutleries were missing which we managed. In bath, toiletries were not provided. Only hand wash provided. Reception was polite but it appeared they do not encourage or provide early check-in as a policy and just stereo type " Subject to availability". We used Lundry equipment in basement. Some of these equipment were out of order. In busy time there could be waiting.

Upon arrival, we were informed by the staff that breakfast was temporarily unavailable at the hotel, requiring us to go to another hotel. After confirming the hotel, a 10-minute walk in the cold weather, the breakfast was available in the hotel on our fourth morning but was very basic and not worth the cost. The room provided was not the one displayed on the hotel.com website. The small windows made me feel frustrated and suffocated. The ensuite bathroom had issues with water flow and leaks. The room was small, and daily housekeeping was not provided. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, causing body pain, and appeared old. We were eventually given another room that matched the website's pictures.

My stay at Adagio Aparthotel started out great with a very nice big studio….then the room never heated up to stay comfortable. It had 2 walls of windows so they blamed it on that. Next the lights over my bed did not work even after I told them numerous times, and 10 days later they still weren’t working. Also another light kept going off and on which they could have simply checked with a bulb. I finally had to go to the front desk and get a new bulb. There excuse was they had to get an electrician. They did offer me another room but I was all settled in to spend 16 nights there. The icing on the cake was one night the door to my room would not lock at all…now this was at11pm and I had to get up early for a tour the next day. So I had to move after being there for 10 nights already and pack up everything. It was ridiculous! I was already in my pajamas and ready for bed. After that, I had trouble sleeping because I was upset. They moved me to an apartment, still chilly in the rooms. So they don’t respond well to maintenance issues. That apartment had a bedroom, living room, small kitchen and bath. The light over the stovetop didn’t work. They clean only once a week and they expect you to take out your own trash to a specific area. Since I complained, I was not treated well by one particular employee named Cassandra or Cassie. They looked at me when going in and out so I bet they all talked about me. The manager never came to speak to me, so that was insulting.

Right on the Royal Mile (closer to Holyrood Palace)! Just steps away from the Tollbooth Tavern where they have amazing whisky and haggis burgers! Rooms are clean, spacious, and they have everything you may need. Mine came with a nice bathtub. Washing machine and dryer are available downstairs. You can walk to pretty much any landmark around the Royal Mile from here.

We were really happy with our stay in the aparthotel. We had some pubs right beside the place so that when we wanted to go out it was so easy and quiet from all the other tourists and noise higher up on the royal mile. Being on the royal mile was so awesome so walkable to all places and having the hop on and hop off bus so close to the aparthotel was great for a day of full tourist activities. It was super nice to be able to cook some food ourselves and have the big fridge for snacks made it so that we didn't have to worry about all of our meals and saved us a little b it money which was super helpful.

Ideally situated on Royal Mile
Hotel was ideally placed for our few days in Edinburgh. Close to rail station and situated on the Royal Mile. Ideal for a self-catering type break with many options to eat out nearby if preferred. Room (4th floor overlooking the inner quadrant) had everything we needed and was very quiet. Would recommend staying here.

I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Each room has a kitchenette in it. The rooms are extremely quiet and come with blackout shades. It's located on the Royal Mile so you are surrounded by all sorts of shops, restaurants, etc. I felt very safe in this area. So many things to see -- very historic.
