Long walk from room 5303 to the dive shop and most other activities. We did have a sewer smell outside and in our room the last 2 days and the ceiling fan in the room was rattling and loose the entire stay. We would have been pleased to have buffet for every meal. Oriental was our favorite, but service was not great at any sit down meal. Very disappointed in smoke house, it was 1.5 hours for food.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The resort grounds are beautiful and well kept, with many exotic animals adding to the scenery. The staff is friendly and helpful. Excellent pool area! White sand beach with lots of lounges, but water is calm - no waves here. Bring water shoes for rocky beach entry and bug spray for mosquitoes. GREAT snorkeling excursion offered here at the Dive Shack. Good food - best fruit & ice cream! The rooms are small, simple and quaint, but adequate. The only minus is the air conditioning. It's very humid, and you can't lower the thermostat in your room, which never seems to be quite cool enough. I still recommend and would happily return!

A beautiful property with a nice pool, delicious food, excellent staff, and air conditioned bedrooms. I wish there were one public room with air conditioning or at least an insect screen. It was impossible even with insect repellent to sit and talk with our family without sweating through our clothes and getting mosquito bites. I also wish the front desk would’ve explained how the nightly entertainment worked when we checked in. I ended up missing karaoke, because I didn’t know it was happening, and I would’ve liked to do that. But truly, the staff were all so helpful and friendly. I would go back.

Above & beyond.

The Iberostar staff is phenomenal. Even with. Hurricane threatening, they continued to put us first - comfort needs of course but even more importantly our safety & welfare.

I had high expectations for this hotel based on my positive experiences with other hotels in the chain. The staff was excellent, the food was spectacular, and the rooms were a decent size and clean. However, the property is showing its age, with some issues like roaches which I experienced and bedbugs reported by guests. The beach access was disappointing, accessible only through a dock. It Is rocky posing a risk of injury from sharp coral. The signage was inadequate, causing confusion for guests navigating the property. Despite these drawbacks, the bartenders Isidro and Orlando, as well as the waitstaff, provided exceptional service. The food was enjoyable, with standout dishes like the tortilla soup at the "Dos Marias" restaurant. The entertainment staff was friendly and talented, although the theater was uncomfortably warm. Overall, the staff's dedication and the enjoyable activities helped make up for the hotel's shortcomings. With some improvements, such as better beach access, the hotel could easily earn a higher rating.
