The bad: We came in by train and this hotel was very close to the station so it was in easy walking distance. We were leaving by airplane, so I specifically chose this hotel because it had a free shuttle to the airport. When we asked the lobby clerk about it they said, “Oh, sorry. That only runs sometimes in the summer” There wasn’t much going on in Reno so we decided to rent a car and go and see some sights in the Reno area. We got back to the hotel at around 5 in the afternoon and saw our room wasn’t cleaned. No bed made, no clean towels, our used towels still in the bathtub. When we called down to the lobby they said they were understaffed and it would be anround another 4 hours before they got to it. My husband spoke with them again and thankfully by the time we got done with dinner around 8 PM, they had come in and made up our room because we were tired out and ready to just relax in the room for awhile. There was a liquid stain, a piece of paper towel and a q-tip on the floor in the hallway a couple of doors down from our room for our entire 3 night stay. The good: It was close to the train station and the main strip of Reno. There was free, hassle free parking for our rental car. The room itself, while not luxurious, was a nice sized room with a comfortable bed. It had no stale smoke smells like some older properties have. Would I stay there again? No. If I stay in an air bnb I don’t expect cleaning services. If I stay in a hotel, I do.

It was nice. There is one thing not related to the stay. You do need to update the automated created emails sent to us. There is no automated check in. I was told that it was taken out 8 months ago.

Overall Great…with a few minor flaws.
Very nice hotel…remodeling was beautifully done. Super clean and spacious rooms (Aspen tower-King). Staff was abundantly helpful and kind…we decided to stay another night and booked through the hotel with ease keeping our room. The restaurant for Breakfast was really good…service fabulous, fresh food and arrived hot and fresh. The steak house—amazing in every way. We stayed midweek and overall it was a quiet nights sleep no obnoxious guests. I always bring earplugs just in case….and after the first night they were needed. Surrounding construction begins promptly at 8am and the train rumbles through …the ear plugs worked like a charm. The only downside was the beds pillows…horrible…lumpy—then, at 28-42 degree temperatures—there’s definitely not enough blankets for weight, comfort or warmth—had to go buy a thick blanket and thermal underwear for PJs. Overall we’d stay again, just bring ear plugs, pillows and warmer pjs.

1st time staying at J resort loved it. We got the 2 queens family suite perfect for our family stay.nice little fridge for drinks and milk for kids. The living room is connect thru a door so its not one whole open space which we didnt mind

This was our first & last stay at J Resort. We typically stay at another property when visiting Reno. We booked this hotel based on the “ resort’s “ website identifying this property as “ the region’s newest casino and resort “ which is extremely misleading. The cast-iron bathtub with glass shower enclosure clearly dates the property. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have slept in at any hotel in decades. The heat in the room was like a boiler room ! Maintenance attempted a repair & had to call a lifeline which proved unfruitful . The room was suffocating with thermostat set at 68 so we turned off the unit leaving the room cold when we awoke. The most sickening aspect of the J Resort is the offensive obnoxious cigarette smoke as you enter the resort & at the guest services desk area where guests register & as you walk to the dining areas. Nauseating. We ate, the word dine doesn’t apply to our experience, at Hanna’s Table. Service was the worst. The food was comparable to Dennys & extremely overpriced for quality of food served. When checking out of hotel, we had to search for security to locate someone in guest services to come to the guest services desk to assist. This hotel is clearly being misrepresented on his website. This is an older property which has been remodeled. I reside in Arizona where resorts abound. This property is not a resort & a property I can not recommend.
