On my first night I got a room that had no wash cloths, no iron/steamer, non-working TV and found a bit of “graffiti” on the mirror and back of the door. I got maintenance to check on the TV, but was told there was a missing cord. The maintenance guy said he could look for one or ask I can ask to change rooms. I said if he can find the cord, just let me know. Maintenance never got back to me and I was tired of waiting. We arrived late at night, so we just went to bed. We moved into a different room in the morning after I put in the complaint. The room was much better - nothing amiss. Overall, it was an okay stay.

The staff were excellent, both at registration and within the facility (i.e. housekeeping). The building has been remodeled and the rooms are beautiful. The main room was very clean, but the bathroom seemed to be only halfway completed when we checked in. No hand towels or bath mat, almost out of TP, and the floor needed to be swept and mopped. We were only there for a night and had to go to a concert, so had no time we just asked housekeeping for the necessary supplies and lived withe dirty bathroom floor. The bed was very clean and comfortable, and the buffet was really good!

Our family visited Reno for Hot August Nights. The room and bathroom were spacious with plenty of counter space. A small kitchenette in the room was a nice surprise. Cons: The pool was not heated. And the top two floors of the parking garage were closed, so covered parking was limited. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Trip designed for rest and recovery in room!
All I was looking for was a quiet room with a comfortable bed for a solo mom night and this 100% fit the bill. The front desk manager was genuinely understanding and helped make check-in so smooth and tailored to me. I’ll be back here no question whenever I need a local staycation.

Overall, the J resort was a fine place to stay as an adult. It’s a casino hotel so you have to walk through parts of the casino where people smoke which was the biggest turnoff. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for families as the pool is not immediately accessible from the hotel and requires you to walk out near the parking garage and walk to a fenced area adjacent to a vacant construction zone/parking lot. The coffee bar quick snack area had decent selections for baked goods and coffee and teas. I would stay here again.
