We havn't stayed downtown Vegas in 30 years. Things have really changed for the better. Freemont Street is fun and many shops and places to eat.

It’s decent value, but check in is always an issue, and the staff is really not very friendly. Rooms are spacious enough and clean, but this property does not do much to renovate or improve. Also, no recognition for return guests, as this is my third (and last) visit to the nugget. I have to say it was very quiet.

A serious of unfortunate events

There was no one thing that made the stay bad, it was just the culmination of a lot of little inconveniences that really lost the value for us. 1) they still charge resort fees despite this now being illegal 2) the pool was closed, which was never mentioned on the listing (I realize this is winter, but the yesr round pool availability is advertised and was a big reason for choosing the GN) 3) There was some sort of construction right next to our room for a day and a half, no warning that might be happening 4) The parking was supposed to be included in the resort fee, but we were not only prompted to pay for parking over an app after we registered our plate, but also charged a vallet fee for every day we were there, despite the service only being used once. Getting this removed was its own ordeal of ping pong between employees, before the girl at rhe front desk admitted defeat and told us she'd talk to her manager later (still unsure if that ever happened) 5) arrived to empty bottles of body wash and conditioner, while wasn't refilled until we requested it 6) the bath tub was rusty and bits of coating were peeling off. All that being said, the staff were exceedingly friendly, and there weren't any bed bugs. So I guess they get points for that.

Not worth the cost

Room was dirty when arrived. Toilet paper dried on toilet, hair in tub, bobby pins on carpet. Not worth the rate, especially with the resort fee. Bed was comfortable.

First time staying here with some friends, typically stay at Circa or on strip. Rudest casino workers/ bartenders I have ever encountered after traveling to Vegas multiple times annually for the last 30 years. Unclean and outdated rooms. We upgraded at the front desk to the “modernized” Rush Tower. Not worth the upcharge at all. The room was outdated and felt generally unclean. Male body fluid on several of the pillows on the couch, had to request room switch and was denied. The rest of the group had complaints about each of their rooms as well. Place to lay down your head at night and seek entertainment elsewhere and that’s about it. If you want a hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff, I would look elsewhere.

Never again will I go to golden nugget. For $500 dollars will stay somewhere else. No refrigerator, coffee pot, air conditioner filter was filthy, blowing dust and smell all over. Bathroom sink. Tub not draining. Called housekeeping 2 times to ask for extra pillows had surgery on my neck and no one showed up. Notified front desk and they said I would have to upgrade and they had no availability. Very bad weekend.

This was a horrible experience. I often travel for events booking hotel/flight through Expedia. This is the first time I've been charged additional costs beyond my purchase through Expedia. Apparently there are "Resort Fees" charged in addition. The package I booked for 3 adults said 1 King or 2 Queen beds (assigned on check-in). After check-in and opening room I was given a room with 1 King bed for 3 adults! So after going back through registration check-in (on a Friday at 5pm) I'm told that is what they had available. For an extra $50 a night they were able to get me a room with 2 beds. I guess its like they say in Vegas the house always wins. I'll never recommend this or any other resort in Vegas to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and use a standard hotel!
