There are lots of things that need to be considered here, from the cleanliness to the management of niggles and problems. Lots of smaller issues that made for a not pleasurable stay.

The rooms bathroom door was so stiff the screws on the door had nearly pulled out of the wood. The toilet seat was fitted loosley to the pan .the cistern ran constantly thus having no flush (i have video proof of this) tap missing from shower. This is at most a basic b and b without breakfast as the kitchen was under refurbishment???? On top of this Expedia have the liberty to charge me £30 extra!!! Swriosly need a full refund for this room.

Good base

Room was suffice, it needs some TLC and a bit run down throughout the hotel. Staff were friendly, but seemed a bit disorganised. But convenient in location and good base to explore Margate. Overall a good option but not the cosiest.

Victoria Hotel

Had a great stay at the Victoria Hotel, the room was super clean and the mattress was extremely comfy. The hotel itself was very quiet. Absolutely recommend it!

Tried calling and emailing the hotel for 3 days before our stay to see if we could extend our stay for an additional night. No answer on the phone or to email. The hotel is definitely not 4 star and not worth the £180 a night we paid. Tiny room, in desperate need of tlc and redecorating. Room really hot, only a ceiling fan and a small fan in the wardrobe. Bathroom towels were very worn and in need of replacing, one had holes in and all greyed at the edges. Water in the shower also scalding hot, tried to turn down but just got hotter. We only stayed here as was attending a friends carry event and was a good location. But very poor standards and super expensive for what it is.

On first impressions carpets were very stained Mould in shower Bedside lamps never been moved to be cleaned around Smoke alarm had wires hanging out Light fan didn’t work Wouldn’t stay again but staff on reception were helpful and friendly

tv didn't work-shower was broken with no tap to change temperature, toilet constantly ran water and no breakfast option.Quite honestly the worst place have stayed fora long time, not even basics in place!

Lovely stay

Very pleasant stay. Ideally placed hotel for our visit to Dreamland. Check in was very quick and convenient and the receptionist who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again, a real hidden gem

It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, the room was tiny, the carpet stained and covered in dirt, huge water stain on the ceiling, broken smoke alarm hanging from ceiling, tiny amount of loo roll, mattress so old you could see the lumps, the table was thick with dust, bed side lights were broken, walls covered in scuffs and marks

This should not be listed on Expedia. TV remote did not work, we had to go and purchase batteries (no staff on site). Half the bulbs in the room lighting were not working. No toiletries in the bathroom other than a hand soap dispenser fitted to the wall over the sink. Would not recommend

Both nights my sleep was rudely interrupted by a faulty smoke alarm going off. It was little consolation to be told that an engineer had been called just as I was checking out. Having paid extra for a double bed it was also a big disappointment to find it was two singles pushed together. For the price, my stay should have been a lot better.

The staff were very nice but the cleanliness in the room left a lot to be desired , dust, crumbs on carpet , stained toilet , mould and rust in shower cubicle . All needs a refresh , ceiling fan didn’t work, neither did safe and the tv Ariel b contraption was rubbish . I would go as far as to request a refund .

This could have been so good and started promisingly. The decor was nice and modern with lovely period photos of Margate and the reception/sitting area stylish with comfortable chairs and magazines. But my room at the top of the house (so up four floors) had no soap in the shower or sink (waiting for a delivery), the battery taken out of the smoke alarm with wires hanging down, and the temperature control on the shower missing, so you had to be careful not to scald yourself if you didn’t burn to death in a fire. But then my friend’s smoke alarm went off at 3am both nights we were there waking the whole house. The repair engineer, we were told, was due after our departure. We tried to report these but the helpful cleaner was the only person there after we got our keys the first night and told us to email “as that is what everyone is told to do”. When we told local people where we were staying they rolled their eyes and said “we could have told you not to go there”. The location is perfect, the hotel was clean and elegant, but to be woken in the small hours two nights in succession, to have no temperature control on the shower (and no soap) and no smoke alarm at all was a shocker given these rooms are £100 a night for room only. All they need to do is fix these essentials, have some sense of customer service and this could be an absolute jewel. Right now its actually not safe and you cant get a full night’s sleep….or wash properly (unless you buy your own soap). Such a pity
