My husband and I had a wonderful experience. I want to, especially think the staff for exceptional service ! Ivana was amazing from the start! Eric assisted us to the room and was very welcoming. All the out door waitresses and service was exceptional one especially think Maria serving drinks in the hut while gazing at the beach and listening to music. The bar tenders and service in the hut was excellent from iced coffee to delicious margaritas. Definitely visit the Mexican restaurant next to the buffet. The out door greeter and the waiter Concepción was wonderful as well as the rest of the staff. In the buffet the omelette bar was our favorite besides the delicious desserts, The waiter they call Tio is always helpful and smiling. Delicious food , drinks, and wonderful service. The ocean was beautiful and easy to swim in. I would say visiting in July is better weather than August but also more crowded. Overall excellent experience. We felt safe, welcomed, and had a fantastic time.

An amazing stay for my wife and 5 year old. To the other resort we have done this was much preferred. A quieter feel then some of the busy resorts, AMAZING spot right on the beach front ejrh amazing snorkeling, saw 4 turtles and several Ray's. Food at the resort ranged from Good at the buffet (breakfast was just okay, lunch & dinner better), but the resteraunts were exoentiomal. No issues to get in, no app so you turn up. We always got a table for 3, at busy times and joined another family we had to wait 10 minutes. Everyone seems to have a smile on their face, and with a smaller resort it was nice to meet new people buy the main pool or kids club. We never trier the yoga classes but we did want to. Volleyball and stand up paddle board through the day. Rooms were good, not as modern as other resort but still very good. Easy to get a drink at the number of bars (a high number for a smaller resort) happily made a double with good. Internacional spirits. I think we decided we would actively seek out this resort again if the price was right. The highlights of a smaller resort, with amazing beach (minimal. Minimal see weed) and snorkeling, free flowing drinks, happy staff, ecpectional resteraunts.. All made for an amazing stay

Beautiful setting and lovely property but make sure you ask for a room in the new part of the building. I was given a rooftop suite in the old building and it smelt terribly of sewage. Then I had to go and ask for a change which was really inconvenient as I'd arrived at 3.00 a.m. my time so was jet lagged. Water sometimes took a long time to be delivered to the room. Electricity is sometimes erratic so lifts were not always available so if you have mobility issues, ask for ground floor accommodation. Staff friendly and well-trained. Overall enjoyed my stay and wonderful to be directly on the beach.

We've been coming here for years. The property has fared well, considering its overall age. They are remodeling, which is great to see. The staff is just awesome here. They go out of their way to take care of you. The rooms are comfy, with great AC. WIFI is good. TV is a bit limited, but we brought our own and we only watch at night anyway. Beach was beautiful. We will be back.

Akumal Wellness Resort was ideal for us! We went with our family and we loved the amenities and layout of the facility, Our rooms were very nice. They offered great dining options and the food was excellent. The night time entertainment was different each evening. The beach and pools were kept very clean. The staff were very friendly and respondent to our needs. I definitely would recommend this resort to families.

We just returned from staying 5 nights at this resort and had a wonderful time! It's just the right size to feel big enough but not so big you have to walk for miles to get to another part of the resort. We stayed in building three and the rooms were very nice with beautiful ocean views. The beds are comfortable and towels and minibar were replaced daily. We chose not to have the sheets changed every day but you can if you wish. We did some excellent snorkeling off the beach in front of the main pool area and ate at all of the restaurants. My 20-year-old kids each had their favorite. I'm a vegetarian and prefer to eat gluten free and there were plenty of options in the buffet and one or two choices in the restaurants. They would bring GF bread when asked and filled every request with a smile. The staff overall was really warm, friendly and helpful which went a long way toward making us feel comfortable. I highly recommend the turtle talk with Alejandro! He's so passionate about turtles it's a joy to see and gave us all a new respect for the turtles in the area. We never had a problem finding a place to sit on the beach but the beds around the main pool were full most of the time. Even with one day of rain, we had a fantastic time and want to specifically thank Alejandro, Pablo, Oliver and all the men and women who waited on us while we were there. We would definitely return.

Pro: super nice beach for swimming in the ocean; pleasant and helpful staff. Con: Our first room was old, rundown and the "oceanfront" view was hidden behind a tree. After the first night, we asked for a new room and they happily obliged. Don't stay in bldg. 1 - it's run down. Our TV didn't work, the toilet was behind a small glass door (no privacy), and paint was falling off the walls. They moved us to a remodeled room in bldg. 3. SO MUCH BETTER. Their drinks are watered down and they use very cheap liquor. I was not impressed by the food in the main dining hall. It was hit or miss. The restaurants were hard to get into and only two were good. The maid let us completely run out of toilet paper, so we had to call for more. I was disappointed that we didn't have an abundance of authentic Mexican food. We got some off campus, and it was the best meal we had the whole trip. I would recommend this facility due to location, the beach, and the lovely staff. Food and drink were very disappointing. They say no tips are required, but this is not true. Even the staff will guide you on how and when to tip.

Amazing resort! A lot of recurring guests. From check in to check out everything was perfect. Staff is friendly and hard working. Resort has beautiful views. Every room has a view of the ocean. Lots of greenery and wildlife. Food is great and buffet has many options. A la carte restaurants are amazing and don’t need reservation. The resort is peaceful and smaller than others so you don’t have to walk far. Snorkelling is amazing and lots of fish to see including turtles. Can’t recommend this resort enough! Already planning our third visit.
