Great hotel with little touches that added to the hotel quality. They provide fresh milk to the room fridge daily to enjoy large range of tea and coffee provided free of charge in the hotel room. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and delicious.

Lovely hotel, but not for elderly guests as the old building has lots of steps. My 83 year old mother had difficulty walking up the dozen or so steps to get from the street to the hotel then internally as well. The building is too old for an elevator. For younger more spry guests, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The accommodating staff was kind to move my mother to a different room with a walk in shower as the jacquzzi bath in her first room had too high a step up (compared to a regular tub) for her. If you are not mobility challenged, this is a great hotel in a great location.

After staying at Deans Court hotel the previous night, it was a breath of fresh air to be staying in a Grade I building (built in 1711) with definite ambiance and antique charm. I definitely WILL be staying there the next time I'm in York.

The hotel is beautiful, we had a room however in a anex little house next to it which was surprising next to the kitchens so the smell of food was quite persistent. What I didn’t like is that on our last day the Hotel did not give us any towels and since we left early to get a train we had to dry ourselves with our own clothes since the hotel tool away the towels we used before and didn’t give us any back.

Our family attended a wedding in York and we stayed at Judges Lodging. From desk receptionists Vicki and Aga who hosted breakfast were both great! Character room was large with all the amenities, breakfast was great with a very pleasant staff. I highly recommend staying and eating at this hotel if you visit York.

Lovely accommodation, close to the river walk and city wall. A short walk to the train station, shopping (Shambles) and York Minster. Helpful and pleasant staff.

Nicely located boutique hotel. Loved the individually styled rooms located in this old mansion. Food was good and staff helpful. Stairs are tricky if you have oversized luggage. I would stay here again.

Clean comfortable room. Breakfast was great. Pleasant people. The open air dining/driinking area was a bit noisy in our room in the front of the building. The room was hot from the afternoon sun. It would have helped if the windows could open more. Highly recommend.

Great property, excellent location and yummy breakfast. I arrived via train, and it was a very easy 10 min walk to the hotel. I arrived early and they held my bags and moved them into my room when it was ready. They offer a full cooked breakfast with the room. I’d absolutely stay here again!
