Room was up some rickerty old stairs dangerous i would say especially with a heavy case rooms were very dated breakfast was shockingly bad made partner ill didnt bother with it for the next two days.

Window could not be closed (November) asked for second heater. Even with that we had to sleep in clothing. Property needs work

Great place in the middle of Eton!

I really enjoyed my 2 night stay at this historic pub. Kitchen did a fine job with food offerings for both dinner and breakfast. The staff are phenomenal in making sure your needs are met. Pack light as you will need to navigate stairs, which can be a challenge with a heavy bag. For sure, this is on my list to return again. Thank you Crown and Cushion!

Having stayed at the hotel a few years ago and since using it for food which is always good, thought we'd stay again. Unfortunately, it was below our expectation. Particularly disappointed with the bathroom. It was absolutely freezing, the radiator didn't work and the gaps around the window made it worse. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean, in and around the shower was bad so didn't even use it, factoring the coldness too. I found the bed and pillows too hard, but appreciate thats a personal preference. Breakfast was served by a friendly lady and plenty of choice and fast. Food is always good here, they just need to invest some money in the rooms. Shame as we love the area but don't think we would stay again.

It is what it is… room was poorly insulated and I was woken by noise from other rooms. Some staff very friendly but one gentleman (I suspect it is the owner) was very off hand, which has influenced my review. I get the impression the he will not care, and that perhaps says it all. A real shame as they have a great location, but if visiting again I would choose any of the other options for accomodation.

Lovely stay at the Crown & Cushion

We had a lovely stay at the Crown & Cushion. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Evening meals and breakfast were great. Our room was very comfortable, although one of the walls could do with some tlc, but in a 500+yr old building you've got to expect some wear and tear and quirks. The landing floor was wonky and floorboards above us were creaky, but if you use the earplugs provided this isn't a problem. Great location for exploring Windsor. Literally a few steps from the front door you can see Windsor Castle which is about 5mins walk away. Free parking for your stay was a plus for us too. We would definitely stay again.

Historical property with quirky angles, some slightly sloping and creaky floorboards but superb location for Windsor castle, river and theatre. Friendly helpful staff.

Fab location

Ideal location to visit Windsor castle and Eaton. It's an old building with a great deal of character. The room was small with a tiny window and it could do with a bit of TLC . Restaurant bar food was tasty the service excellent. Breakfast has a limited choice and unfortunately they burned the bacon. Free parking at the rear was a big plus.

The pub was fun and quirky. The room was clean the bed was comfortable. We had control of the heat in the room. The breakfast that they prepared in the morning was outstanding! It is one of the best breakfast options I have had at an accommodation. The people were all very friendly and having water, coffee and tea in the room as really nice.

Our stay at the Crown and Cushion

We had a wonderful stay and the staff could not do enough for our visit. The food and room were very good and clean for such a characterful old building. If you are a light sleeper ask for a lower room, as the staff live on the top floor and get up early to get the breakfast ready. You get given ear plugs and me being thick I never thought to use them. I’m quite a heavy sleeper, so although I heard the noise, it didn’t bother me or my wife. Once again that was the only negative. Located a short walk over the River Thames to the castle, railway station and plenty of bars and restaurants, whilst Eaton was also in walking distance.

A great stay, less than 5 minute walk to the theatre and 10 minutes walk to Windsor Castle and around a 1/2 hour to Heathrow. However, if you have mobility issues: the building is from the 1700s, all rooms are up a fairly narrow staircase and most floors are uneven as you would expect in an old building. The room was clean and cozy. We would stay again.

Never again

Stairs are difficult. No proper fire escape without going down the stairs. No chairs in the room. Floorboards creaked badly when moving about at night. Nowhere in the shower to put your soap whilst using the shower. No bedside light on one side of the bed.
