Great stay. Large room, nice included extras.

Great hotel. Good location. Nice sized rooms with lots of amenities - free water, snacks, etc. Only complaint is that the beds are quite firm. Not used to this, but maybe it’s a European thing. We would definitely stay here again.

The staff were wonderful and helpful. Construction/scaffolding right outside our room. Late night noise on the street into early morning hours. Woke up to no water one day.

Vanbrugh House is always very generous with its upgrades for VIP members. A magnificent property. Cannot recommend this property more highly. Outstanding staff, especially at reception.

The woman on reception was outstanding. So friendly and polite and was one of the nicest people I've encountered doing that role. The man when I checked out was also professional and friendly.

We really enjoyed staying one night at the Vanbrugh, helpful& friendly staff, great location and room was perfect. Enjoyed the breakfast hamper in our room - super cosy!

This hotel is in a great position if you wish to explore Oxford city. It is centrally located with lots of shops and restaurants around. The hotel itself was a little bit disappointing and for the price I paid for two nights, did not represent value for money. The bed was so hard, I struggled to sleep for the two nights and I asked for a topper and they were unable to supply one. Instead I was given a duvet which I slept on top of. There is no bar or restaurant so you are just paying for the room. Although clean, some obvious wear and tear is visible as it is an old property. There was no lock on my window. The reception staff provided an average service. Polite and friendly, but felt they probably could have been a little more cheerful. I think the pictures are far superior than the reality of the property and if I had not paid such a premium, I might not have been as disappointed.

Great small hotel

Great hotel, better than big same as hotel chains. No bar or restaurant but nice breakfast delivered to room. Staff are great, in the centre of everything in Oxford. Old charm but with modern touches.
