Excellent stay

We were able to check in early, which was very appreciated! Initially we were given a room that smelled bad, but when I spoke to the front desk they immediately offered to move us to another room. Very happy with the attentiveness of the staff and the quality and comfort of the room. Location is perfectly situated in Oxford.

Mac cheese

The hotel was lovely and clean, the first room had noisy cold air blowing out, cold room, but hotel were very quick to move us into a bigger much warmer room,, Barman bit rude almost telling us we couldn’t eat as busy,, however very lovely waitress got us a table,, half way through starter mains arrived couldn’t eat soup, mac lobster was awful, pasta had the guts boiled out of it hardly any cheese sauce lobster bisque poured over the top was very brown, not presented very well, partners steak over cooked, chips were great,, they gave us discount,, now breakfast was beautiful so delicious well cooked lots of choice of drinks juice coffees teas cakes and hot menu was fantastic,,

Definitely a unique place to stay, and I am glad we did it. That said I wouldn't return. Staff seemed hassled, the room was airless (yes it was a cell!) Valet parking man was disinterested and negative.

Great Hotel

Great stay, in a non-cell room. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. Close to the sites as well as the bus terminal. The only minor issue was with a sink and shower that wouldn’t drain properly. (They tried unsuccessfully to fix.) I would have to mention though, the cost of the continental breakfast was outrageous, at 22£ each.

We would definitely recommend upgrading room to a cell. So unique. We were on 4th floor and had great view of the internal structure of the former prison. Hotel is in great location for getting around the city. Limited parking spaces which can be booked in advance. We parked at nearby shopping mall costing £26 for overnight parking. Staff were nice & helpful. Loved the room. Great stay.
