Had a very good stay and the breakfast was excellent. The room was roomy and comfortable, though the condensation on the windows was very bad and needs attention. East access to all roads and 5 mins from the Metro Centre.

Friendly and very welcoming

Lovely Holiday Inn Express, great, friendly staff, plentiful breakfast. As with a lot of hotels a frustrating lack of power outlets next to the bed plus we had a small leak in the shower but otherwise a most enjoyable stay. Great location.

Great overnight stop near Metro Centre. Perhaps unusually for a budget chain, the staff reaaly seem to enjoy giving fantastic service! Really welcoming and friendly.

Good overnight stay, friendly staff, comfortable room and a decent breakfast included in the rate. The condition was a bit dated, particularly the heater in the room. Overall, a good overnight stop.

Short stay, over an extended weekend.

Overall, it was a nice comfortable stay for a long weekend. Staff were very friendly but the vegetarian (egg free) choice at breakfast, was somewhat limited. The rubber seal in the shower cubicle needs attention, but the Dove hand and shower gels, were fab.

One night stay before an early flight from Newcastle. Rate included breakfast but we were up and out before it started there was coffee but nothing else on offer. I have stayed at other HI hotels where they give a grab bag to take away. The room was clean comfy and quiet. The restaurant area was like a school canteen very basic and no ambience but the service was good. Would stay again for the convenience and quiet.

We stayed here the night before our morning flight at Newcastle airport. We arrived around 6pm and got checked in quickly. Rooms were spacious and clean as were the toilets. Unfortunately our room had a broken window making the room very noisy during the night. Not ideal with a toddler and baby. We could no request a room swap as the children had fallen asleep prior to heading back to the room and waking them to do this was not an option.

Overall a nice stay

I stayed for a week with my children, first impressions were great. Friendly staff, lobby clean. Room was standard, quite small family room. Was summer holidays so lots of children could be heard at night/early morning. Irons could do with being checked in each room, the one we had burnt my shirt, but the staff were lovely and have arranged a replacement with no hassel. Breakfast had a good choice with good quality food and drinks. Due to having a broken car, staff extended out check out to 1pm so i had enough time to go and collect it all.

Great value for money.

Friendly and efficient reception staff. Request for disabled access catered for. Clen, comfortable room on the ground floor. Super continental and English breakfast buffet.
