The staff was great. The AC was very noisy. The TV remote wasn't working properly. The terrible noise from the construction next door is extremely disturbing. Every morning starting at 7:45 am. It was very upsetting because in vacation we want to rest. Expedia should advise before booking this hotel until thevend of construction.

Wonderful Art Deco Hotel
I had a very nice stay at this hotel as part of a Miami Vice 40th Anniversary reunion on South Beach. This was one of the hotels captured in scenes in the iconic TV show in the 1980s. My room was comfortable, with a nice bed, desk, and very nice bathroom in what is now really a historic hotel probably build in the 1930s. The breakfast was quite good, and it was served in the hotel just behind it called the President, which also had a rooftop pool area which was nice too. The beach and palm tree park are just across the street. Overall great stay. The only difficulty was the street is closed to traffic, so one cannot just pull up and offload bags. This I found out then I arrived, and I had to pull into the back alley for this. Keep that in mind if you have a car. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay.

The staff was outstanding at the Penguin and the Presidente specifically Carmen at the Penguins front desk. She was not only professional, but also very accommodating when I needed to leave my bags before and after check out. Spectacular service.

This is our second stay on ocean drive. The first at a neighbour property was terrible with no sleep due to the constant noise however this stay at the penguin has been a delight. The hotel is gorgeous and the room was bright and airy. We did bit encounter any noise from the street and slept sound. We didn't use the pool but made use of our welcome drinks and breakfast both of which were good. We parked at the local municipal carpark which is a 3 min walk as this was only $20 for 24 hours. Loads of spaces on a Monday in September but unlikely in peak season. We will definitely be staying at the penguin again next time we are in Miami

My wife and I TOTALLY enjoyed our stay at The Penguin. We loved our terrace but the sliding glass door was in disrepair...that was the only cloud on our vacation. Thank you Lourdes and staff for such excellent and friendly service.

Would recommend to anyone going to the Miami are great location only a hop away from the beach and a short walk to a lot of restaurant and bar options clean standard room pool is at sister hotel nothing to write home about but who really is going to the pool when beach is across the street hope to stay again soon

So they have this sign right by check-in that says you can upgrade your room for $20.00 a day. Hmm, that sounds good to me I say so I ask for the upgrade. I don't know if the employee spoke English well enough to understand or what, because he nods and says yes. He then gives me the key to the regular room we had reserved. Again I ask about the upgrade, this time he says, no here is your key. Not even an explanation, can you imagine that. It was not clean either.

The overall stay was comfortable...only thing is i feel the place needs renovation...the free breakfast at rhe sister hotel was very good..and the receptionists during the day were very friendly.....theres a latina lady with the prettiest blue eyes whos also from NY.....i cant remember her name...but she was amazing.....i wish i knew it so i can state it here...i hope this description helps....the room was a bit small but comfortable.i had the waterfront...it was a good view but the padded windowsill looked questionable...it had very old stains on it....i would stay here again mainly because of the price...its very hard to find affordable stays on the strip...and for that receptionist with the pretty blue. Eyes....so humble and sweet 😊
