Comfy stay with a couple of issues

Lovely room with enormous bed and lovely shower everything was clean and the building is magnificent. The lift however was out of order and being on the third floor was a bit of a hike some people could not have made it and feel they should probably have called to ask if that was a problem rather than just waiting for me to show up to tell me/others. Due to the age and style of the building it is a bit like a rabbit warren. Couple of safety notes... As a single female I was in an end room isolated from most of the other rooms. There was no internal lock on my door and even worse no spy hole. Just something to be aware of. Lovely comfortable bed and all clean but I was a bit unnerved by this security issue.

I’m a fan of Abode Manchester and have stayed many times - including a few weeks ago when I left a very positive review. There rooms are great, the building is fantastic, and the location couldn’t be much better. A few quibbles this time. The lift was out of action when I was there a few weeks back - and it is still out of service! There is only one lift and the upper floors involve a big climb on the stairs, especially with luggage. This isn’t good enough. Also, breakfast can be a big sluggish - and since the hotel has a breakfast menu instead of buffet this can be a problem if you’re staying for business and tight for time in the morning. I will definitely stay again - but would appreciate and a brisker approach to breakfast.

Very pleasant stay with early check in. Hotel with a bit of character and clean .Only downside was the lift was not operating but this was OK for us but may be a problematic for those with mobility issues .

Sleeping on a cloud

Beautiful building and the best sleep I’ve had in ages! The lift wasn’t working which wasn’t an issue for us and we were offered help with our bags. Great location near Piccadilly and in easy walking distance of the city centre.

Stayed for one night, rooms are large and spacious but in need of a refresh. Cleanliness not 5* but not too dirty you feel you can’t sleep. It noisy at night if room is on the main road but expected that due to location being near to station. Have stayed before when newer so have seen it much cleaner. Beds are comfy and huge. Would stay again as very reasonable for price we paid

Lovely hotel but the room is in need of soe repair. Flashing light bulb, light shades missing ( 4 of them) ripped wall paper. Great location, easy parking at a discount rate. Staff very friendly

Dated, better options at a similar or better price

The hotel is very dated and the service is not great either. All lifts were out of order during stay. 15 minute wait to check-in on arrival. The room itself was fine, but not what I’d expect from the price point. The air condition was non-functional and from the early 00s. Broadly speaking it has been recently refurbished, but feels like it was done on the cheap and with little thought. Wouldn’t stay again unfortunately.

In no particular order. Bed was massive, not exaggerating when I say we could’ve got 4 adults in it. Me and the missus both like to sleep on the edge of the bed and I was surprised there wasn’t an echo when we were chatting. Loved the bed and it was very comfortable. The ceiling in the room was high and the room spacious. We were on the 3rd floor and the lifts were broken but stuff happens and I needed the exercise so I’m not marking the hotel down for that. We’re from the area and just fancied a night out so no strangers to the city centre and while that particular corner isn't exactly easy on the eye, it’s just a few minutes walk to very good shopping, drinking and eating so the location can’t be faulted. We’d happily stay there again.
