It should be illegal for The Royal Horseguards to be able to call themselves a 5 star hotel. It couldn’t be further from the truth. This hotel is 3 stars at best. We stayed in the Apartment Suite. First off the hallways and elevator have a horrible musky smell. When we entered the suite we were baffled by how dirty is was. Black mold in the shower. Rug and couch so filthy it was appalling. When my husband went down to the desk to ask if we could change rooms the women told him “all the rooms are old and dirty” oh lovely, good to know! I had to put a blanket down over the couch to feel comfortable sitting on it. The TV would go off and restart by itself constantly. The water pressure was terrible. And the whole layout of the bathroom was poorly designed, with the shower door and bathroom door constantly colliding. This hotel needs a full renovation and updating. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. Such a waste of money.

Poor service, not at all 5 stars, not one person offered to help bring bags to the room after arriving or at check in. Many amenities were missing from the room including a hair dryer. Fire alarm was going off during stay as well. Elevators were disgusting and smelled of smoke. Regret booking this hotel very much, not at all worth the price and will not be returning or recommending.

Train noises

We stay in one of the rooms has garden views. The location is great, close to all the major attractions. However, the train noise doesn’t stop until midnight, I found it very difficult to sleep.

Very welcoming, the hotel was spotless, housekeeping was excellent, breakfast was good unless it was extremely busy we had to wait a few mornings to be seated and only on one occasion the breakfast wasn’t topped up as it should of been. Front of house staff were very friendly & helpful. We will definitely stay again.
