This was a beautiful property and a good value. The room was appropriate for a solo traveler, but would have been too tight for two. So make sure you know what size room you reserve. Staff was helpful but it took time to figure out the master switch issue for lights and tv. Walkable to many touristy options and good food. Would definitely stay here again.

My friend and I stayed at Strathmore and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very quiet—we never heard our neighbors.

Average hotel stay, room was on the small side and a bit dated. Didn’t like that they also tried to take money from my account before I’ve arrived even tho on the booking it states pay at the accommodation. This has happened before on previous visits. A simple phone call would suffice to confirm that I still required room

Gem Strathmore Hotel is a very good hotel, close to the metro, many restaurants and shops. Staff is nice and helpful. There are a couple of things that could have improved the experience: 1. We checked in at approximately 6 pm and learned that they have already charged our first night prior to our check in, which was not expected. Usually, if we did not show up to our reservation, then they should do that. I planned on charging the room to a different card upon check in, but since they have already charged the first night, the remainder was charged to a different card. 2. The second experience was that the room we stayed in was cold in the night. For some reason, the room heaters worked in the evenings but turned themselves off in the night so it felt very cold at night. Other than that, the hotel was very good. It is about a 5 minute walk from the metro, there are many restaurants and shops nearby. It is also close to other tourist attractions via metro.

After reading reviews about the firmness of the mattresses at this property, I was very grateful to the staff for putting mattress toppers on our twin beds before we checked in. As a result, the beds were very comfortable. Thank you. This is a very nice hotel and I look forward to returning

Perfect location for Royal Albert Hall. Very small room, but comfortably furnished. Radiator was very noisy, so slept with it off. Quiet late night bar was lovely.
