Misleading and disappointing
No contact info 4 days before my arrival so I initiated contact. Margo was fast at getting to me and arranging the check in. First off I was given the wrong address, 238 city turned out to be 261..NO WIFI, only one key with a Fob for the 1st floor, even though our room was on the second. Had to have the concierge let us in each time. He told us that the owner was told two years ago to buy the correct Fob, but doesn't care. Blinds in living room were broken and wouldn't close so no privacy as several blind panels lay crumpled on the ground. Dinner plate had huge chip missing, heated floors not working, poor tv signals..otherwise..place was ok. Would not go back.

Apartment/room is pretty brand new and modern. Very Quite and spacious. Full equipped Kitchen. However, the balcony door is broken, stranger (if any) can easily break-in, feel unsafe. Carpet / pillow is very dirty, I can see very clearly the "shoes stamp" on the pillow.

Would be good to know you have to collect keys from a different location - with bookings for Guests at different times, this set up is not very suitable. Most apartments have a keysafe code/collection.

Lovely apartment
We had a lovely apartment, very spacious and cosy. The meet and greet guide was very helpful and polite, location was great, and easy to access. As we stayed on the weekend, we found free parking nearby. The only downfall was the WiFi was very poor, the concierge did try to fix it but it was still pretty slow.

Good flat, looses it on the detail
A nice apartment in a very good location although still being developed. Nothing really there unless you like a Kebab or McDonalds. Could e a scene from Judge Dredd. Took an age to get in, guy late,no second key, no key at all initially, have to mess with key to get in, lock needs replacing, fob didnt work, no toilet roll for goodness sake. Wifi didnt work so tethered. Only 2 glasses. No soap, no shampoo, no anything really so be prepared, there is a coop nearby. All the little touches not there taking it from good to mediocre, shame as it could be great if they thought just a little. Building maintenance poor, access doors all stick and drag, felt like a prison in appearance. Inside the flat although very sparse was in good condition and plenty of space, good balcony and equipment appeared good. The complex has a consierge, just as well as the fobs dont work. There really was nothing other than a shop in the area, felt isolated in central London, couldnt find a pub or restaurant other than a Turkish place (which was good). Will use other flats in future so they lost a 4 month contract on detail.

painful check-in process
Great location - close to Angel and Old City tube stations. Nice restaurants close by as well as small markets for fresh produce etc... The check-in process was painfully slow and inefficient. No toilet paper (in two bathrooms) when I arrived which was odd because the room had just been cleaned. No batteries for TV converted which was fine as I was going to be out a lot. The advice of the check-in rep was to use the controls on the TV. He promised that he would arrange to get two batteries up to the room but they never came. Again, didn't need the TV but if you say you're going to do something, please do it. Great place to stay just understand that the check-in process isn't ideal as the gentleman might be doing 2 or more rooms at the same time (and other locations too) and you'll have to wait your turn.

The access code given to me did not work so I was stuck outside for 20 mins until someone exited the building. I tried phoning the out of hours number repeatedly only to find each time it didn't connect. When I finally got in I found the mattress on the floor and the bed base broken. Also the only bed linen left was a sheet and pillowcases. Absolutely appalling. The following day I sent them an email about everything and called them and I'm still waiting for a response 3 days later

Booked for the London marathon and location was perfect for getting to London Bridge on the morning of the event either by bus or tube. The organisation left a little to be desired as I was sent self check in details but was called on the day to say that we would be met if I called 15 mins before arrival. When I called the mobile number no one answered which worried me but eventually they came to meet us and gave us a room... All turned out fine in the end.

7 extra forms of ID who can do that? DO not book this. You book hotels.com then they cancel your order to make you get in touch. Then want your card as a picture, then passport picture, then pre-authorisation for cover? Then fill in a form at the place, show passport again????? Then nothing in the apartment...

Please dont make the same mistake - Avoid!
In hindsight I should have paid more attention to the reviews myself, as the warning signs were there. We booked a room for a family trip to London, had to send additional details and afterwards the promised check in details never appeared. After much chasing, we were told we would be met and checked in on site by a member of staff. When we got there we had to wait over an hour for someone to come and let us in. The apartment itself was dirty, with layers of dust on table and plates, and was bare with dirty walls and bathrooms. The kitchen had none of the cooking utensils you expect, with no pots or even cutlery.. In the end the fact that there was a working microwave was our saviour. I duly complained to the Smart city apartments, and I have had to fight for a partial refund, although I would say that Hotels.com themselves have been great. Please please for your own sake avoid!

The neighborhood is interesting. It is full of good food and drink and is near by Old Street station. Spacious rooms but few amenities. We did enjoy the kitchen. Living room couches were rather worn and the living room rug was soiled and had a bit of a smell. Bathrooms were modern but not in tip top shape.

This is not an hotel with apartment
It's random flats rented across London with the worst staff I ever dealt with. Both reservation and check in process are painfully de-organized. Flat is ok but not clean as you would excpet

The booking in process was iffy, no proper reception area, no means to take CC payment with a machine, had to do it on line via a link emailed to me,and so had to fire up laptop find wifi etc in order to proceed, to slow and to much hassle, having said that the actual apartment was fab-tastic.

Stunning
We had opted for the 2 bedroom penthouse apartment and were completely blown away by the space. There was also access to a roof top balcony/garden which had amazing views of London as well as another balcony from the spacious living room. The self check-in instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. We had a long haul flight in the evening of our check-out, so I asked if we could extend our check-out time by two hours and they were very accommodating. If i'm honest, Its not worth staying in a hotel in London and serviced apartments like Smart City are definitely the best way to go. All in all our stay was brilliant with plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Will be sure to use them again on my next visit to London. Many Thanks Smart City! Million

Scam City Apartments
A complete nightmare - this place is a scam and should be avoided at all costs. I (and several other parties) arrived on New Years Eve and tried for hours to get into the building and into rooms. No one could be reached by phones and one group that finally did get in (after nearly 2 hours of calling and getting the run-around) their room was filthy. We all peeled off one by one and made other arrangements and now I cannot get my $500+ back! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!! An employee in the building said it has been black-balled by some sites as raves have been taking place in some rooms. I am attempting to get this 'hotel' block from this site to spare others our hideous experience.

Average hotel but terrible organisation
The compny retained my credit card details and used them without my authorisation for a stay that didn't go ahead. Despite their assurance that it would be repaid they have since refused to answer my correspondence which is typical of my experience with them. Their emergency contact details are frequently turned off and the company is generally clueless. When it goes wrong (which it will) they will ignore you and there's nothing you can do about it.

Not that good but ok for the money.
On the day, I had to call them several times in order to get my room number and access PIN. There was no any sign to tell you it is the right building when you are in front of it. When I got to the door of my assigned apartment, the PIN did not work, so I can not get the key to the door. Luckily a staff was in the building and picked up my call, and grabbed me a key from somewhere else. In the apartment, you can see signs of bad treatments from past customers, such as broken door handles, drawer refusing to come out and microwave that doesn't want to rotate your food. The wifi was fast though. There are plenty of towels and beddings looked clean to me, so that is one plus.

Nice apartments; weird and dodgy booking process
There is something very weird about the checkin process. Having paid for the apartment, the compamny contacted me again asking for my credit card details so they could "take payment." I had already paid. Ahead of time, they asked for a scan of my passport and a scan of my credit card to "prevent fraud." And yet these details would be ideal to COMMIT fraud. When I got in touch with them about both issues I received no reply. I won't be staying here again.

Worst hotel experience I've had
Took two hours before anyone turned up to check us in. When finally shown a room, in another location due to maintanence issues, it wasn't cleaned since last occupant, dirty bed sheets, towels, used soap in shower. The hotel have not been I contactable by myself and Expedia ever since - suggest this hotel is removed by Expedia - others were in the same position that day as well.
