Small boutique style hotel in a good area. Easily accessible to the tube/subway, good pubs and restaurants in the area. Definitely quiet, which made for a great find in the area!

Wish they wouldn't use single use plastics for the toiletries
As other reviews indicate, this is a very tired hotel and one that is not worthy of its 4 star rating. Our room was tired, with the bathroom door handle hanging off; and a sparse, uninviting room. Awful smell of damp/ mould as you enter the guest rooms area from the lobby. On the plus side, the staff were all very friendly and polite.
The property is pretty old. The rooms need lot of upgradation. The room size is very small. I was given a room on fifth floor which was more like an attic room with very low ceiling.
Overall just an average stay definitely not value for money.

Staff are polite and capable although the hotel is not as luxurious as presented. Carpets are worn and dirty and walls need new paint. The location is the best part. Consider elsewhere first.
The good: big room, centrally located, excellent staff, comfortable bed, good shower, fridge in room
The less good: Dated hotel, needs new carpets etc, frosted room windows.
Nicely positioned close to Gloucester Rd underground station; museums within walking distance; a few very nice eateries and a Waitrose. Lovely staff, very nice breakfast choice (though the coffee from a machine was awful!) overall warm and bright. The twin room we had was small and needs a deep clean and decorating but the beds were comfy and the shower was very hot. The noise from the rain pouring from the gutters into the yard below was extremely noisy and kept me awake most of the 3 nights we stayed. No lift up to our room was difficult as my husband is disabled and struggled with the stairs, we booked online so had no choice and to be fair, we didn’t ask to move rooms so not sure if this would have been an option. I would stay again as it was so convenient for where we wanted to be in the city and the staff were nice.
