On arrival the front desk staff seemed to be struggling to find availability for the type of room I had booked (double bed). Instead of being upfront about this they gave me a key for a room which turned out to be a single bed in a tiny shoebox; not even big enough to open my suitcase! Given it was their issue I feel they should have offered a complimentary upgrade, or at least some kind of compensation. The icing on the cake was an evacuation due to a false fire alarm at 2am, with zero comms from hotel staff. I would not stay here again.

I am not sure why the hotel added the feature of having sound proof where I could hear everything within the room. But overall, i have enjoyed the stay.

Drain flies in the room

There were drain flies in the room and despite reporting it on numerous occasions during our stay I am still waiting for the manager to call me back. The staff were polite and friendly but were unable to move us. It overshadowed our anniversary stay at the hotel, which was a shame because the location was excellent.

Very conveniently located within walking distance from the Heathrow Express train (Paddington station). I was given a tin in the property opposite the main hotel. The lift does not serve every floor, so you may need to carry your luggage down a few steps. The room had all the essential items on good working conditions. However the room was miniscule and would have been unsuitable for a couple, despite having a double bed. Unless you have an IQ of 500 you won't be able to figure out how to switch the lights on as off. Some of the lights had a mind of their own, and why on and off by themselves regardless of what I did you the switches. Something much simpler and more intuitive would have been greatly appreciated. Overall it was a comfortable stay in a convenient location.

This property is within 10 minutes walking from Paddington and 10 minutes from Hyde Park. There are lots of restaurants nearby! The staff was welcoming and accommodating and the small bar area had wifi and televised sports! I had a quiet, clean room!
